Probably a silly concern about ME design, but...

Really feel that different? Always wondered, but never had the opportunity to try a ME car.

Mid engine cars often have the sweetest turn in...drive one and you'll wonder how you didn't demand rear mid engine corvettes sooner..
Today's corvettes are excellent track vehicles., great sports cars for sure. I'm actually looking forward to the rear mid engine corvette for something slightly different.
Really gives you the feeling of a race car for the street.
911s have been popular for so long in my opinion not for their excellent interiors and their excellent performance because at 6 tenths they are go cart like in their turn in.
My suggestion is to reserve judgement until you can test drive a rear mid engine vehicle,
Add in a corvette LT1 derived powerplant...should be an absolute blast...

I did too at Exoticsracing.com and it was a huge disappointment.
That's the AWD talking to ya.
You can't turn in quickly (like you can with a RWD) without a healthy shot of understeer.
Next time you're there compare it to a 458 or a 488...big BIG difference.
I hated the frickin' Lambo and vowed never to buy an AWD Sportscar.

Only disadvantage is it isn't so good in the snow now. But it only snows in Texas every few years anyway.

Totally agree AWD is so overrated. I have a Gallardo and got underneath it one night years ago and removed all of the the AWD components. I would never change it back, the car now is so so so much better to drive. No more understeer turn in was greatly improved, it rides smoother (less unsprung weight), 100+ pounds lighter and alot of that is rotating mass so it accelerates better now.

I would love to own an ME car or even drive one. I think 850 horsepower behind you will be exhilarating!

Lots of HP under the hood makes me happy, but the idea of lots of HP right behind me makes me uncomfortable. I'm not familiar with ME cars (I rode in a fiero in the '80s), so maybe it's a non-issue, but I'm wondering if the engine being so close to you gives others pause, as well. I rode street bikes for many years with the engine between my legs (not to mention the gas tank in my crotch), and it never bothered me. The ME thing might be bothering me because of the insane physical forces in these high performance engines. 850hp right behind my head? Yikes. Is it just me?
