C8 ME Are you IN?

Unfortunately, my Z06 will probably be my last Sportscar.
I'm getting too old to squeeze into and out of these cars.

Absolutely in,from what I’ve seen the car looks to be a stunner,I’m on my fourth Corvette, long time owner and can’t wait to see the Zora in the flesh. Can’t wait to see the Caddy either.

Most of us here are serious vette fans. Is it safe to say we've owned one of every gen after our first? I think it is and I"m no exception. I will own a C8 when it wears a ZR1 (or equivalent ) badge!

If there is no MT, I will keep my ZO6 for a very long time! As for getting the C8, this is a wait and see.

2020 C5 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
I think so, man I really can’t wait to see if they get serious and make it AWD with a real DCT in it. Right now I am trying to decide to give up my C6 Z07 for the new ZR1...I am so conflicted

Definitely looking forward to seeing the ME. I've had a love affair with vettes for over 50 years. Love the excitement of a new generation....especially this one.
But definitely not a 1st year buyer or probably 2nd year buyer....with the ME. Too many variables in play... Styling and cost are #1. Engine? DCT? Manual? Cockpit/Interior ergonomics, etc.
IF the rear end is even close to the size shown in the most recent "spy shots", I'm definitely not a buyer.

After decades of wanting one, my first corvette was/is a 2017 Z06 with Z07 package. I am still learning the car and having a blast with it.
I am interested in the C8, but I'm likely a few years away from letting go of my C7.
Like many on the forum, I will watch while the new design issues, if any, get worked out. The other key bit is the price. If GM knocks it out of the park with the C8 and it becomes the next real supercar, I could see the price going up over time.

yes and chevy will do it right
Had my C2 (64) for over 37 years, purchased used with 27,000 miles 1971 for $2500. Sold it in 08 for enough to buy a 09. Kept the 09 for 4 years before being a bit board with it. I put $$ away and invested it hoping a ME would evolve. So finally it may happen and through good fortune the car will be built, and I'll have the cash to buy one.. Been waiting a while, I always thought it would happen...
A lot of negativism on this board about accepting the new ME style, there is always resistance to change, I'm undeterred..

IMHO here is what Chevy will do:
(1) A true manual will be offered, with a DCT as an option.
(2) Rear wheel drive, with an optional all wheel drive, as they will use the ME platform as a excuse to add what big horsepower cars need to be safer.
(3) Convertible and a targa top.
(4) The current FE car will be built, at least for a while, alongside the ME car.
These changes will appeal to a younger buyer and will dominate on the national and international race circuits. I see it as a natural progression of a great car with a great heritage. I can not wait! Will I buy one? Maybe

Absolutely.
There is no other choice for me unless I want to move to a Camaro/Mustang.
The only caveat to me is TC Auto only. Either a DCT or manual.

I am waiting for either the Nissan GTR R36 or C8 mid-engine, which ever comes first.
As Nissan has already said 2020, then I am putting money down on the C8 as soon as we know when. Anyway, I'm in.

2022 C3 of the Year Finalist - Modified
Absolutely ZERO interest in any mid engine car.
#36
I'll wait until model year 3 before pulling the trigger. Not interested in being a "beta-tester" for GM, but I'm definitely in.

Doubtful there will a GTR R36 in 2020 if at all. The Z35 is apparently not going to happen after rumors it would be revealed at Tokyo in October.
Nissan is making money on crossovers.

I'm absolutely in. While my preference would be a true convertible, I'm getting to the point age wise where I may have to go with the first version they launch. Hope it's the high performance version but that's doubtful. If I can still get in and out of it, I guess I'll just have to flip the early one for the later version..... Anyone out there want to get on my list to buy it when I flip it??? It will be RED!

The car is simply a halo car for the brand and those have a limited lifespan.
