Default C8 Corvette Manta Ray???

Ok, .. so after watching all the other renders that have been popping up, most of which seem to ignore even some of the known facts of the car, I decided to do one of my own. The side scoops are hard to figure as they have them padded and covered pretty good, ..but I think I'm pretty close on the "B" pillar and the backlight glass. Thought about doing a Photoshop version, but that would have taken way more time than I had.

As I mentioned, this was done with some hard studying of materials, but I did add a couple things for fun, like the front splitter, and a rear spoiler that might be similar, since I read somewhere there was a small spoiler to be available. Oh, .. and the little "Manta Ray" on the door ...

Might do what I think the rear looks like if I find time. The rear roof section that I tried to depict is a "V" shaped, tapered roof with a clear glass section that shows off some of the engine goodies, but not the entire engine bay! The glass would be either concave in shape, of flat on the deck with buttresses on either side and a vertical backlight glass behind the driver.

Some of the changes that I made from all of the mules that are heavily padded and camouflaged, was ... *removed the long padding that extended the front bumper cover, and added the proper cover from the leaked paint shop pics. *Next was removed the vertical padding rib that was on the rear quarter panel that created a fake upright appearance, allowing the more rounded and flowing lines to show. *Next, I removed the hard vertical rear corner padding that obscured the double tapered rear bumper cover. *Added the proper rear bumper cover from the leaked paint shop pics. *Noticed on all the mules a padding at bottom of doors that tried to hide a character line, .. figured this line must carry into the rear scoop for which they were trying hard to hide, .. so I tied them both together! ... and really a bunch of little stuff ..

It’s a good effort but I’m Sure the back will slope back gently to tail like a C7 and not near vertical as you have it.

I would redo the headlights & add a slit across the front hood like a Ferrari to help w cooling & reduce lift

Thanks for the compliment, but I disagree with you on the slope of the tail being like a C7. The pic below simply doesn't support that theory.

The front I guess wont be this sharp n pointy.
the headlights will be more c7's evolution and not as large as depicted.
the side scoop is good but maybe it slants a bit more n has more depth to it.
also I am expecting active aero spoiler at the rear.
nice sketch tho

Nice job....I'd say you're closer than all the others we've seen.

Anyone remember this Manta Ray? I had one of those in 1965. It was flying down the straightaway at my local slot car place when the NY black out hit. I do like your rendition though.

Yes! Remember them all over Long Island slot car tracks mid 60's.

True but that’s a mule. It could be a roadster or intentional misinformation.

This photo shows a gently flowing rear deck.

i hope you're right about the heavy padding in the front end area. 3+ feet of overhang is ugly and would be a game breaker for me.

That’s not going happen. The more front overhang weight the worse handling will be.

Default Yikes!

Your drawing reminds me of the '65 Corvair Monza Coupe.
