GM is taking its time putting together a very special car for us and we're just fine with that. However, we really really do want to see it... and drive it. Just saying.

"We were all expecting it"
No, dear Curated Corvette person. Most of us KNEW the car was NOT going to be shown in Detroit this year.

Truth is no one really knows when it is coming out.
Us old guys were expecting it to be released in 1972!

Seriously? Apparently the Curated Content Editors don't read the very forum they create content for.
If the editor read this C8 section, they would have KNOWN that the C8 would NOT be introduced at the 2018 NAIAS. Myself and many others have repeatedly stated that in this section along with very good reasons why it would not. Now, just like other clueless auto writers, our Curated Content Editor is predicting it will debut in Geneva in March.
Nope, wrong again.
Of course, just like all the auto rags, it makes for good click bait even they know it is not going to happen.
... C8 Corvette that by all accounts should have appeared in Motor City at the NAIAS this week ...

Premium Supporting Dealership
I think we have a year before we see that and maybe even more. I just don't see GM putting out the ZR1's hype train to pasture before it even starts production. Just does not make sense. Being on the dealer side for almost 20 years has conditioned me to expect it later than sooner.

Melting Slicks
Since we have all agreed that it will be a 2020 model, which can't by law be sold before January 1, 2019, there aren't too many choices: New York in April, LA in December or Detroit in January 2019 - since they are only 5 weeks apart, personally, I can't see them doing LA over Detroit. If we don't see it in New York in April, we know it will be Detroit (which is my bet) with a release to market date of June 2019.

The front page of the forum amuses me often. It's like there are two different Corvette Forum universes out there!

I'm very happy that you had some key information that it wasn't going to appear but the journos of the industry sure had their chips on another number. The wait continues on for the uber Vette.
