Default 2020 Mid-Engine Corvette Latest Rendering

I think this is as best as it gets since she's still heavily camo-flashed. It could look different when revealed but this will give you an idea for now.

What do you think?

this is actually the latest update rendition. It is only an "impression" of what I think "could" be under the camo.

New info just popped up and I will be adjusting accordingly but the overall shape and known details matche the spypics.

Looks good but GM won’t go that wild in the front end I don’t think.

Looks familiar...

Again, those delta shaped supports are VERY thin (look at the far side one) and there is really nothing else in that fascia to suggest any other design so I took the liberty to fill it in with a Corvette styled grill. The other "supports" may be only temp. From the front the delta shaped elements would hardly be visible. Note the B&W painted camo under the black tarp. Sure it could be fake but prob isn't.

Maybe if I get more time I will address it more. I am sure it will be very different and much more exciting!

The only way that I would recognize it as a Corvette;
Giant chrome letters on all sides.

Default Hiding in Plain Site

Gents, I think there is a concept car out there that hints at all the hidden features that the "Burka" is covering up. The Aria "Fast Eddy" Concept One. Look at the shape of this thing vs. the spy photos. Very close.

Another big clue - this was done by a group of car guys in CA with very close ties to Chuck Taylor and the GM Warren Design Team. In addition, this thing was built around a rear-mounted LT4 with a Tremec dual-clutch transaxle. Finally look at the wasp-waisting and the "shelf" that starts under the door and ends in front of the rear tire. All very similar to the leaked CAD screen shots.

I think this is the "daddy rabbit" to what will be the C8. it is also better looking, IMHO, than any of the renderings I've seen and its a REAL CAR - to go on sale (for a cool $1M) THIS YEAR.

Sure looks like a Vette. I think you are onto something.

Yup. That's been discussed for a while now. They have a newer version as well that is wilder.

The problem I see is that since this IS a real car and will be available for sale...the Corvette will need to look substantially different or risk being called a copycat.

Many supercars have "similar" shapes and if you squint hard enough or they go by fast enough...they can look the same. The devil is in the details and although the Aria shares similar design cues as Corvette... we should remember that Corvette came first...so the Aria looks like it could be a Corvette...not the other way round.

I'm not so sure what came first - this thing was first reported in 2016. In any case it is a "bespoke" custom car that has not been "productionized" to allow assembly on a production line. My guess is the C8 will look somewhat different due to the need to make it buildable on Bowling Green's line.

HOWEVER, the resemblance of the sheer view to the spy photos and the distinct cut under the door is uncannily close to the CAD screenshots. As I said, this is NOT the C8, but I bet it is damn close. It is also a BEAUTIFUL car, which will make the Ford GT and the Lambos's look like cockroaches in comparison.

GM would be foolish not to use the best features of the Aria in their first ME sportscar, because the Aria was designed as an homage to the C2, and it just LOOKS like a Corvette.

I agree...but my point was more simply that the Corvette look of the Aria is because it uses the history of Corvette design. The Corvette ME may in fact look similar to the Aria but it will be due to Corvette design cues if that makes sense... The fact that we recognize that the Aria "looks" like a Corvette is my point.

I agree. The design guys that did the Aria and the C8 guys have the same DNA and are looking at the same inspirations......that is why I think this car is a big important hint of what’s to come. If it looks anything like this, I will put my order in early next spring.

The Lambo hardly looks like a roach. The front looks like the Aria. I modified the rear of the Lambo but left the front alone. Now both cars look like a Vette, which is a good thing. The renders, including mine depict a pretty awful looking car. I kept my C6 because I don't like the C7. I hope I don't have to wait for the C9. Heck, I'll be in my 80's.

Changed the contrast a bit on this one. Is that the logo hiding on the nose?

Some renderings have the C7 "look"I hope it doesn't have the C7 front end or the rear. Something CORVETTE but it's own design.

You must be insane if you think the Ford GT looks like a "roach" or not as good as that Aria.
