Default C'mon GM...tell us something about the C8

I wish they would just come out and tell us that the C8 is going to be available for purchase in 2022 so that I can go ahead and buy my 2018 GS now. Instead, some of us that are waiting to see what the C8 will look like and when it's coming out, have to wait with cash in hand. Makes no sense to buy a C7 now and in less than 2 years, it will be the "old" model.

ok, rant over. Please flame on. lol

Show release in 2019 in Detroit.

Availability by August 2019.

First year of production will have limited availability and market adjustment most probably...(early on)

Figure late model year 2020 at sticker..

I agree with most of what you are noting, but the ME is not scheduled as a limited production car, and just like our forum dealers offering first order SR’s and Z06’s at sticker, I would similarly count on them offering the ME at sticker.

Now as to other dealers, sure you are correct that market adjustment will be their tune.

I think this will be a high demand product inviting many other brand enthusiasts to order up a rear mid engine corvette..

Ferrari, Lamborghini owners will be ordering a c8 as their daily driver sports car....so they can keep their mileage low on their rear mid engine exotics...

Especially if a dct is offered...

Many of those ******** forgot how to drive a stick shift..(kidding)

GM durability and pricing along with world class performance will have long lines of buyers for many years ...

I fully expect the c8 to be GMs most successful corvette as it will bring in buyers from many other brands....

That's the job of the halo vehicle...and the c8 will be impressive ...

Again..JMO and of course I'm biased.

that's me, I have never driven a corvette but the ME has my attention. would get the manual if it was an option tho.
I'll give it a try when the high HP version comes.

I don't see that since the ZR1 hasn't even came out and GM doesn't want that loosing steam. IMO I could be totally wrong. I say 2022 but has anyone asked in the"ask Tadge" section and produce all the cad drawings and spy shots and say ok what do you say about this Tadge? Someone has had to of asked him by now and I'm sure he isn't just going to stare at them with no answer and with proof.

GM will tell us about the ME when they are good and ready (duh). In all probability we will, echoing the teaser videos that were sequentially and sporadically GM released in the two/three months prior to the 1.13.13’s reveal of the C7, we will start to see the first of the ME teaser videos in mid-to-late this October. And in the month before its reveal at NAIAS next January, we will similarly start to see a few GM official pictures of very small parts of the ME.

So while all of us are frustrated in the interim, my wife and I are doing all we can to systematically grow our ME savings fund over the roughly 1 1/2 years until first customers will be taking them home.

Only 346 days until the ME’s reveal — but that’s a far cry less than the over 679 days when I first calculated its upcoming reveal, and a far cry less than 1,094 days since we first placed our ME’s deposit with Mike Furman@Criswell.

I would expect some dealers to even offer something off MSRP. I ordered my C7 in February 2013, less than a month after the reveal and found a dealer that gave me MSRP - $2000 with no doc fees or other dealer add ons.

The ZR1 is designed to be a low volume model.
The baddest (and most expensive) Corvette FE of all time.
A swan song and a gift to the faithful who want just one more go around with an FE.
That is its purpose IMO.

He would do what he always does when asked an uncomfortable question...

Hopefully, discounts will come sooner than later. If I recall correctly, the first C7’s were delivered late SEP 2013. I purchased my 2014 C7 Z51 in March 2014, which was six months later and I was able to get 10% ($7K) off. I’d certanly wait six months after the first ME’s start to get delivered to get 10% off!

(In addition, those six months will probably be winter months and being in New England, I wouldn’t drive it a lot during the winter anyway).

Im hoping that GM doesn't wait for the TT models to come. Would be nice to see them out of the gate. I'll have a long wait if they don't.

You could be correct...and we might see a short run of c7 s in 2020 and an early release of the 2021 c8 to begin deliverys after January 28th, 2020.

Anything is possible..

Fun to dream..

By the time the ME hits dealerships, there is a very good possibility of a recession...we are long overdue.

Wish I knew also who wants to buy a old model even if they look great. In one of my hobby interest there is a well known Company that had the new model come out of a plane and parachute.

This caused everyone to go in a frenzy pre ordering a new hobby model that is tauted to obsolete present machines. The frenzy has been going on a year and this new model should roll out about now.

Still many are waiting for real life reviews oh heck I will just buy and throw caution to the wind. GM wants a frenzy of pre orders?

This is why I went ahead and bought a C7 a few months ago. I was debating on waiting for the C8 to materialize further to depress C7 values more or decide if I wanted a C8. I bought a used C7 to enjoy for a few years. If the C8 is something I want I'll sell/trade and have enjoyed an excellent car for 2-3 years. If the C8 is DCT-only with turbos and electric assist front drive I won't be an early adopter and will continue to enjoy my C7.

I used to work for the company that made the exhaust systems for the Corvette (sense retired). I ran into an engineer at the local taco shop that was a colleague of mine who still works for the company that makes the Corvette exhaust. He said they are making the prototypes for the mid engine car (code name SC) and planning for production system this fall 2018.

That sounds about right to me. I have heard for nearly three years now that it is a 2020 model which will be introduced early in 2019. Deposits NEXT spring and first deliveries late-summer / early fall 2019.

I hope you're late by 6 months.
