C8 Mid Engine shots, in the wild!!
Got a call from my Mec on his way to work that there were 4 Camouflaged Corvettes headed my way up the mountain this morning. I grabbed a few cameras and jumped in the C5 to intercept...
I thought I turned on the front go pro, but could not believe it did not record, anyway, a did get a bunch of shots and some short video clips on my Ihpone, and a little with my rear camera...
As I was headed down the mountain, the first 2 flew by me, I flipped a U turn and caught up to them, then the other two came in behind me! I chased the front two for a good 15 minutes thru the canyons, the roads were wet, but we did get after it a bit!!
Working on some video now, but here's a few shots...
Have to go take care of some business, Video is uploading, check back tonight...
OK, like I said before, REALLY sucks my forward camera did not record, but I worked in some Iphone shots and a few Iphone clips I took while following them....
Here's what I got on rainy wet morning...

I did my best to be respectful as a corvette enthusiast, while still trying to get what I could.
Once the other 2 C8s caught up from the rear, the whole crew pulled into a turn out.
I went by them and tuned around, and pulled into the large turn out on the far side. In a VERY short time, by the time I had turned around and pulled in, they were just finished completely covering ALL FOUR C8s with car covers...
As I stepped out of my car to look, I was approached and told not to. I told them I was a huge corvette fan, and then asked them straight up if that was the mid engine C8, let's just say they response was something like "we can neither confirm or deny, NO comment"
I then told them I had pics and some video, and asked them if they did not want me to post it, to which they again gave a vage but Neutral response, but did NOT tell me not to post. Overall, I was respectful, and they were cool about things.
I was a bit low on fuel since I jumped in the car that morning without filling up, so I even half jokingly asked them if I could buy a few gallons of fuel from them (they had a fuel truck with them), a few came over to look at my car and really liked it.
Again, wish my front camera had worked, but it certainly was a thrill chasing them thru the canyons for the better part of 20 minutes!!!

I'll never understand why people bother blurring out manufacturer license plates.

Did they let you close enough to the car(s) to allow you to see any details underneath the mesh, such as back window, tail lights, interior, etc?

Are they using old school CB radios to communicate?

Of course they are way out in the desert. Fits the rumor of Irvine from a couple of weeks ago. Looks like they might have taken the 74 through the mountains and are out there in the middle of nowhere testing.
Looking forward to the rest of the pics and vids.
