I agree that the first year availability will be even tighter than the C7 (Mine is a first year car). However, if the big three or four 'Vette dealers hold to no more than MSRP, I bet they will sell a lot of C8s. As for me, this time I am going to wait for the latter part of the second year. Car will be better "snapped in" and I should be able to land one of those big dealer discounts by then...

Could you make out the manual gear shifter by chance....kidding.

Great post, I'll be a buyer about 3 years from now for a new C8 and will just run the great C6 I have until that time.

Thanks!

When you say hood, do you mean the front trunk/frunk "hood" or the engine "hood"?

Not sure how much you are comfortable saying. Any help will be....helpful !

Thanks for the exciting conversation.

...by the way...looks like I need to find friends like yours!

Honestly, all 4 of these miss the mark. They basic concept of the look is there.

I see what they are trying to do with incorporating the look of the front bumper spy shot into a rendering. It just looks wrong. The inserts on either sides of the large openings are completely different.

#1 kind of has the right idea on the front, but the flow is all wrong. Too many lines

#2, damn that's hideous hahaha.

#3 looks like a C6 had a baby with a Saleen S7. The headlights are WAY to big and not even close to the right shape.

#4 The taillights are obviously way off, I just pointed out why in my op. However, the rear intakes (Yes, those are intakes to the airbox beleive) that are somewhat trapezoid, looks pretty close. however, the design feature below it sticks out and wraps around towards the front some like this:

I am seeing two different rear bumper versions though. The CAD image matches what I have seen, but the leaked rear bumper is different from that in this area. Must have been a prototype that went to the graveyard or it's a base model vs Z06 thing going on.

Speaking of the engine, is there any truth to the speculation about the C3 style buttresses and small vertical rear window?

Oh no, not even close.

That looks more like a front engine with bastardized C7 design with a McLaren side scoop. Yuck.

The side view mirrors are clearly wrong. Every recent spy shot has the correct side view mirrors. They look very sleek. The early prototype shots still had C7 doors/mirrors tacked onto them. That was obvious.

Can you tell us if there is a quarter window behind the door glass? Or is it all body panel behind the door glass?

So great of you give feedback!

If you don't mind...

So you would say the basic "feel" "vibe" of the car is represented in the renders? 1-10 ? How close?

Very interesting. We were getting hints from others who claimed to see it that the nose was very angular and sculpted...hence the lines on the hood. Also seemed there were c7ish hood lines on the center part of the hood based on the paint shop fascia.

The side view is THAT far off? In general shapes or details? Are the "features" close? Any attachment to the side scoop or just body similar to the LaFerrari?

How about the rear deck? Any wing or spoiler above the rear lights?

C7 like deck Glass.? or buttress? From the latest winter testing it looked like there may be 2 versions being tested?

I got the feeling that it will be a cross between a C7 and 458/488 in terms of vibe. A more American muscly looking 488?

I'm trying to figure out why a supplier would have a final rendering of the total vehicle + the fact that someone was able to take a picture of that or print off two copies. After the C7 ZR1 magazine leak - will be neat to see how the press & media process will work for the C8. Part of me loves reading updates and verbal details but I do hope the first time I see the car is when it drives out or is uncovered at the auto show/special event!!!

There is an upsweeping feature that transitions from the door glass to the rear pillar. Doesn't look like it's a glass window though.

This shows it properly, though incomplete. The sides angle downward towards the engine display cover. The rear window is not vertical though, it slopes.

Thanks for posting! Couple questions if I may?

1) LED headlights like Audi?
2) Did he mention anything about power plant?
3) Is the emblem on the front the same as the c7?
4) Is the rear hatch vented?

I can't see the close details of the head light.

He wouldn't know about the powerplant, he's not aGM employee.

No, it's different, but it's still easily recognizable a corvette emblem.

Rear hatch vented? In which way? There is venting, but there is not any big louvers or anything like that if that's what you mean.

Agreed. Jaguar Land Rover ruined two wonderful designs simply by changing the headlights of the cars.

2015 F-Type

2018 F-Type

2015 Evoque

2017 Evoque

The older versions of the headlights looked much better.

aside from the glass or whatever it is on the top back, are there any vents on the rear top?
