Here is the same render. Looks correct but quarter side window is likely gone since wide angle rear view camera makes it unnecessary.

Still too much C7 there. Looks like a successor to the Toyota MR2.

Seriously? It was a great design, but no DNA with this render.<br/>C7 is a great design too so continuation of its cues makes sense. Abandoning the C2 design for the C3 was a mistake.

It will not be a C7 1/2. While my wife and I still have a crush on our C7 Z, it is time for a significant styling change. Confirmation that we will be getting one is the following:

When I say too much C7, I mean there's literally cut and pasted pieces of C7 in that picture. The roof, wheel arches, exhaust tips, the taillight theme and significant portions of the front end were copied with little or no change from some stock photo of a C7. It's not even a render. It's lazy photoshop work.

FirstVetteSoon is at least doing original work.

Thanks Jeff. !

Now that C7pimp has provided new information, I think by the end of this week we will have a pretty good idea of the general shape and details of the ME and maybe ACS will revise their rendering. I know that MikeG37 is revising his and I will work up a new one as well. Maybe between the three of us we can get pretty close!

I think they got the top edge of the scope and rear fender correct according to the OP. I think they know now that the scope angles the opposite direction. Hopefully they will take another crack at the rendering after we get more information!

I agree..great effort by the artist though..

I wouldn't buy one...

But if it's anywhere near the look of the mclaren 570 in basic appearance shape and size...we will be lining up to buy one....

most of us are here for info, and to discuss what could be. There will not be a 3rd warning, Spring vacations can start

Matter of taste my friend. To many, the C3 (especially the early ones) visually represent the most classic of all Corvette designs. It is my favorite generation behind the C7...

Without a doubt. I was just out of college when I saw the 68 Vette. There has never been a car that has revved my engine that much. My first Vette was a 73 which I am partial to. Larry Shinoda screwed up with his interpretation of Mitchell's Stingray concept and Duntov hated both for aero reasons. I had a 78 and a 80. The C3 and even the C4 had the best cockpits. Since then they are too big. The ME looks like it will be the same. The pictures I've seen of the ME, just doesn't cut it for me. I hope C7pimp is right.

Maybe in the old days before the development of the divertless supersonic inlets.

The days of using a traditional splitter plate are long gone.

Shaka posted this image a while back in another thread. Any more info on this? Similar rear light treatment as ME. Sure it's just a custom mod but interesting

The car will look like a Ferrari 458/488! Period. That’s what GM is targeting.

Nothing wrong with that. The 488 is absolutely stunning. I'm excited about the change from C7 styling......... on one had I do think it looks good, but on another it is a bit of a hot mess.

I think that the ME will have tail lights similar to the new Camaro. It is what GM does. It will have the V shape and wrap around as indicated by C7pimp.
