Thanks.
This may give us an overall impression of the look and feel, but I think the knock your socks off awesomeness will come from the details of forms and finished connective tissue. The way the grill components mesh with the delta formed attack nose parts. (still need to refine that a bit more) The sculpted body panels and inserts... Can't wait to see!
Anyone else get a Le Mans vibe from the nose of this thing?

here is a straightened version that will be easier to view since the spy pic was taken at an angle.

I totally agree! This, I feel is the basic look-as described by C7pimp and from the spy and CAD images we know so far. I am sure the actual car will be much more detailed and "edgy" in real life.

As noted above by another member...it does't "always" work. There are maniac designers out there!
What you said is exactly right tho. Times change and evolve and so does the eye. People get used to seeing something, some shapes and it becomes familiar and looks"right" When it is changed the eyes first reaction is to reject it as different. But as you say, after a while the old one starts to look dated, the more "new" visual exciting things we see.

For example, Audi R8 still looks as awful to us as the day it came out unlike X6 and C7. But then again, we never liked Audis.
Cognitive Dissonance (even though we do not have X6)?
EDIT: Hmm... I think it is Cognitive Dissonance. We did not buy X6 but we did consider at one point, one of X6M, Cayenne Turbo, Jeep SRT, Range Rover SS.

firstvettesoon I applaud your practical approach of overlaying your developed rendering then tracing and blending the lines. IMHO most ME cars are subtle and similar in design with small styling cues that win or lose a buyers favor. In this case GM cannot dare to go so bold from a styling or cost standpoint but rather offer a calculated very well thought out design to bullseye the majority of the target demographic. The fact that this car is ME is bold in itself and will offer marked improvements in geometry, weight distribution and the technology onboard.

Thanks ^^^
As I have said before, I feel this is only the tip of the iceberg. I believe the car will be more dramatic and beautiful but not "overdone"
See you back here soon F16 ! Maybe by then we will have some more real tidbits....
Finished the nose
Next step...color render!

It will be a fine balance of dramatic new styling to attract new buyers and familiar enough to keep the existing base.
So far...so good.

Gotta fix the roofline though. The curvature from the rear pillar needs to continue downward on the rear deck, not towards the back.
If I could most accurately describe the C8, it would be morphing the C7 and the Aston Martin DBC. The stance is very much like the DBC,

Thanks for the guidance.
The DBC ain't such a bad thing to be compared to!
I will see what I can do to adjust.
Can you tell if this looks like the Spider/Vert version ?

Nice work firstvettesoon! Looks really good.
I wonder what pimp meant by, "Gotta fix the roofline though. The curvature from the rear pillar needs to continue downward on the rear deck, not towards the back." Will be interesting to see your take on that.
