Default 2020 Mid Engine Corvette (Concept Design)

Hello Corvette Forum,
I have been following all the spy shots and latest news with the upcoming C8. Here is my own interpretation of what I think the 2020 mid engine Corvette might look like. The headlights will need some refinement as I have already noticed. Thank you for any criticism, critiques or general opinions on the design. There is always room to improve and I would like to continue updating the design as other members have here, to try and make it as close to the spy shots as I can. I appreciate all the design work being done on the forum as it's really interesting to see what fellow members come up with.

Wow, a person shares with us an rendering, and some attack him and his work.

Good for you Cardesignforfun for taking the time to draw and share something for us to consider. I like your forum name, which after all is why were gather here, to have fun, share ideas, and similar.

And if someone doesn’t like something, whatever happened to such posts as:

Not my favorite;
I’ll pass;
No thanks;
Doesn’t do anything for me;
Wish it were “X”;
Not something I would buy.

Or a hundred other tactful “not for me” posts.

Or someone who doesn’t like the design, could choose to ignore the design entirely.

*****

Paraphrasing the old expression, “if you do not have anything nice to say, do not say anything,” to a more contemporary equivalent, “if you would not say something to a person while looking that person face to face, probably best not to post it on a forum.”

Some of the details of the c8 ME have been leaked and we know...or think we know approximately what it will look like.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...neak-peek.html

Skip to the end pages for a drawing I did based on the leaked info and confirmed by someone who has seen it. Maybe you can get some ideas from the descriptions.

You concept is IMO a few more years down the road as a possible future Corvette.

Nice job. Keep going. curious to see it develop.

I too really like the above rendering. I would buy it. My wife said, “we should buy it!”

It takes me to the 2027 ME Corvette (the year after GM bought out Lamborghini), with that car being the first, next gen offspring after that purchase.

Thank you firstvettesoon! I'm a fan of your work in the other threads and keep up with your designs in the thread you posted. Based on that information in the other thread I'm going to tweak this design some more. Maybe I'll post over there too? I appreciate your feedback

Thank you Elegant! It certainly has some Lamborghini influence in it.

Here is an update for my mid engine corvette design with some influence from firstvettesoon and the latest spy shots. Revised headlights, new side scoop, side glass shape. Updated the vent in front of the front wheel and changed the back vent above the rear wheel. As always thank you for any feedback.

Ok, first thought. It looks great.

At the same time, it looks somewhat 'abstract'. It is somewhat of an art deco concept with the lines and the fading.

Traditionally, car renderings are done with pencil or markers as the first stage. What is missing in your design is a clear car aesthetic. Lines are missing where they should be, curves don't make sense at times, and proportion are off. I suggest trying to make a version in pencil instead. Show where the panels are. Give some detail to thinks like th headlights.

Lastly, the car above looks like a revised Camaro, not a Corvette. So, that should be looked at as well.

Thanks Atari_Prime. I understand what you mean with the lines fading. When they fade off it is supposed to be more representative of body work and not so much line work.
I always start with a line drawing first by hand with pencil. This design was done originally with a line drawing. Then I work with it digitally to render it. I can certainly add cut lines for the panels and make the headlights more realistic. Both Corvette and Camaro share similar design aesthetics. What about the first version I did at the top of the page? I'll try to make it more corvette like. What cues do you suggest?

Let’s see how good you can do...
I give the guy credit for trying. Especially when even if you draw the perfect render of the actual car some ******* is gonna come on here and tell you your work looks like crap.

I don’t claim to be an artist and wouldn’t put anything on here because it would look like this cartoonish mess. This person actually said this is what they thought the car would look like. Funny

As a concept drawing, I like it. Nice style. Of all the spy material I've seen, yours looks a 100 times better as a design, but it doesn't look like what I would expect a Corvette to look like. Thanks for sharing.

So I’m “some *******” huh? Right back at you. Dude asked for opinions and criticisms and I gave mine. I think you are all being plunked anyway. This can’t be serious it looks so ridiculous. Keep it up with the profane insults pal we’ll see you in a week.
