Just got back from GM Milford Plant - I saw a C8
There was a C8 under a car cover, I didn't touch but got as close as I could. As best I could tell, there is not an engine in the front of the car. No pics, sorry, I enjoy being employed. I asked my escort if the engine was in the front. He said, well, they do some crazy stuff around here. Later, he said I might be right.
It seems longer than my C6. A very distinctive shape also. The underside has a lot of panels to make it smooth underneath. Pretty wild looking, from what I could see. The mufflers are behind the rear wheels. There's a lot of heat shields around the rear of components at the rear.

Maybe they really are going to do this?
I don't know, I don't mind the idea of a new, special model, but for me the Corvette will always be front/mid engine.

I can't believe the OP fell for that old trick.
GM put a fake car under the cover just to mess with everybody.
No way there will ever be a C8 mid engine.......according to OT.

First it is not a plant.
Second I doubt you will ever go back and may even get a phone call. I don't suppose you read the paper you signed when you were brought on site.

If I ran GM, I'd do the Dodge Demon type marketing on their release, not completely shroud it in secrecy up until a show and show it all at once. But since they don't, then I'd do what this guy got into, let one group show one group something privately each week, then wait a week and scour the internet for leaks. Bam, connect the dots to fire em and keep the house from leaking everything before marketing can.

I couldn't see a lot, but the rear of the car sure had a lot going on inside. To you point, the hood had a bulge like the ZR1, that had me doubtful of the engine in the rear.

Making CFOT Great Again
There's no way GM would leave a top-secret upcoming model just hanging around when public tours are scheduled. Whatever was under that car cover, it wasn't a C8.

You obviously know it all, so kudos to you for correcting my ignorance.
As for returning, yeah, I probably will. I didn't sign a NDA. Not worried. However, if I do catch some trouble, I'll be sure to PM you and let you know I was wrong. I'm humble enough to do that.
Where's the "go pack sand in your *** emoji"?

At first posting this in OT I figured it may go unnoticed but I doubt it will here.

Then why all the deception for the next C8? Not a big deal. why waste all the money to put out fake news. GM has always wanted to bring out a mid engine since the 70's but did not have much enthusiasm

He saw the car "undercover", meaning he didn't see it at all. No offense intended. Kinda like a super model wearing a burka. In my opinion the whole logic surrounding the C8 is one purely of demographics. The vast majority of it's buyers are baby boomers. A vanishing breed. A mid engine concept would hopefully bring in a younger generation. And finally GM could still make comparable profit off of a higher priced vehicle (w/a higher profit margin) with a lower sales volume. And if you can make the same amount of profit with a lower sales number you also have the resultant bonus of lower warranty claims to deal with.
