Dear Vette Members
This is not my video, but the C8 was out in the wild. Again.

I know it is probably the shortest, but at least there is something. I'm trying to be positive about this.

Burning Brakes
Things I noticed:
1. The mid-engine Corvette is small
2. The Silverado HDs are gigantic
3. You can hear a V8 in the Corvette in the first video

Looking at these two videos, I think they’re starting to tease us. GM NEVER lets prototype drivers floor it with cameras chasing, unless they’re on track. And that was definitely a convertible, looking at the long rear deck and “humps” that are separated behind the cabin.

@ 1:03 in the video it looks like there is less covering around the B-pillar and upper back glass. You can see the back part of the roof in camo wrap and not the bra covering.

Liked the sound. Yes a V8. Can anyone with great ears and knowledge identify it as OHV or a DOHC?
I also like its “scoot” when the ME driver hit the throttle and quickly moved out/away.
Thank you Bikerjulio!

Pity the guy is talking over the engine sound at it pulls away from the stop sign. I put on the headphones and cranked up the volume to 11. To my ears the sound was the slightly muffled sound of a turbo V8. Rather than the crisper sound of a NA engine. Therefore it must have been the new DOHC TT
What do I win?

Obviously a novice "mule stalker". All us "veteran stalkers" know that capturing the sound of the test car is one of the most "cherished trophies" that one can achieve!

Drifting
The 2nd video sounded like an automatic - zero lag between 1st & 2nd gear.

Related to the transmission, I recently took delivery of a VW Golf R with the DSG trans and am most impressed. It's an engineering tour de force, and wonderful to use. Instant shifts, rev matching, it's all there. The DSG version is quicker than the manual as well. I'll be very happy if the new ME car has such a trans.

Or is could be a download port to quickly access tons of data from every drive. If one has ever seen inside many of the IVER mules, it looks like 2,000,000 miles of wires between every kind of computer and sensors, etc.

The data acquisition hardware is in the trunk. There's no need to put the data port on the fender.
One of the other recent spy shots showed that fender switch clearly labeled as ON/OFF. It's a battery cutoff. Now whether it's a standard 12V batter or some high voltage hybrid voodoo is anyone's guess.
BTW, does anyone else find it weird that in the video, one of these cars was clearly speeding and cutting across a solid yellow to avoid someone chasing them.....but now there's conveniently posed photos in a residential parking lot?
