Stripes on Corvettes have always been controversial — though as we all know, they are an OEM, C7 option, Many do not want them; some however love them. Took a visual trip to this month’s Geneva Auto Show and for the debut of the Ferrari Pista, and Ferrari chose to have every Pista displayed to have stripes. As did the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro — but almost none of the rest did. McLaran’s rarely have them, neither do most Porsche.

What might you do with your Corvette ME — even if easy to do as full length stripes would be a factory option?

If anyone has full length stripes on their C7, but is not planning on them for their ME, would be very interested in knowing your ideas/thoughts as to why not.. [BTW, I have no full length stripes on my C7 Z06.]

I bet they will have that option. I am Not a stripe kinda guy but that last picture with red 488 with stripes looks great.

I think stripes / no stripes is a function of the individual automobile design. My C7 does not have stripes, but my Viper coupe did. I wouldn't consider a Viper without stripes while some others in the Viper community couldn't stand 'em.

With respect to the coming ME, I guess I gotta' see the car first before I decide. Oh.... and I wouldn't consider them unless they were a factory option.

Stripes make money. If you don't see optional stripes at first, it's because they're saving them for a time they can be used to make more money.

I'm not a full-fledged stripe type, but the OEM C7 stripes look good and I have them on my C7. I've always felt when looking at any car, the thing that first draws you in is the paint, then the wheels. I didn't want the stripes to be so contrasting when I looked at it that I wouldn't initially first see the whole car when I walked up to it. When I approach my car my mind goes something like 'yeah nice looking car, and those stripes are a nice touch'.

Not so sure about the C8 as we haven't seen the real thing yet, but in my mind as I imagine it, the stripes are not there yet.

Love the CF stripes on my C7, but would not order them again on a C8. I would however have them painted on after delivery. The sticker stripes should be painted on to begin with.

the flat black stinger stripe on the hood is functional, helps reduce glare, something that has been on fighter jets for years.
