C7pimp has seen images of the complete car and says there is a hood vent similar to what is shown. Maybe your view was cropped a bit too much?

BTW, as you asked earlier, C7pimp saw the images but did not and will not post them so we are going off his description.

Here is a side view dimmed as you describe... any thoughts? Could you see and details at all?

I believe I saw enough of the hood to confirm no hood vent. Hopefully 1 of the other dealers on this forum are attending and can confirm. The pictures were up for maybe 20 seconds. I focused primariy on the more clear picture of the front corner.

Each trim/model has a unique front fascia. LED running lights in the headlamps, LED auxiliary lights in the fascia. The SS has a heat extracting hood.
Thanks! The Camaro forums have been informed!

Respectfully disagree that it makes no sense for a vented front hood. And even the latest McLaren 720S, now has one.

Interesting in that C7pimp stated that the hood would be polarizing.

Sans a hood vent, I wonder what design/functional element would be so radical that C7pimp would label it as polarizing... hmmmmm.

He meant in respect to it taking away from the only real storage compartment the vehicle would have, not that it couldn't be used to aid in performance and aero.

I wonder if c7pimp saw an optional hood that will be offered? Maybe a z06 version even?

Kind of like a master “ignore” button.
It's a shame if there is no plans for a Cadillac version.
All of the $$$ the division has put into the IMSA Daytona Prototype and World Challenge series and for what...a sedan (CTS-V)?????

Good point.

The dealers saw, per Nate, two pictures. How easy is it for GM to photoshop a hood to remove its vent!

Here below is, IMO, clear proof that was found last week that there is a hood vent (the depressed area right in front of the five-sided, fake, raised styrofoam piece) — and also a hood vent has been repeatedly confirmed by c7pimp.

there are 2 different mules driving around. Maybe one has "more" dynamic elements? One is likely a vert as the rear decks look different and have different wheels.

I agree that there "should" be a hood vent but the images shown for 20 sec "could" have been doctored to eliminate too much detail...
Also some angles do not clearly show a hood vent on some production cars.

If it's a vent, then why is there no mesh to allow air out? I think it's just an indentation caused by foam on the sides that's meant to camouflage the contours of the hood. I think the raised part is the vent. If we could get a better look at it, I'd bet it's open or at least meshed on the back where it faces the windshield.

The CAD drawings clearly show a front trunk that is located forward of the front axle line. That is where the ducting would have to be for the hood vents that the various rendering have shown. You can't have air ducts to the hood and a front trunk occupying the same space.

Maybe the camo on the hood is hiding a hood-mounted tachometer

In all seriousness, they’re probably just hiding some lines on the hood. The CT5 test mules use a similar feature: However, this hood seems functional...

Not saying same exact design but anything is possible...

We don't know for sure how the hood vent C7pimp saw actually is realized in the hood. Just a general shape and position.

Perhaps the absence or inclusion of a hood vent could be part of the aero on a higher performance model (with) versus a base model (without)

I'm not going to go dig back through the CAD leaks, but I seem to remember one of them showing space for a duct behind the frunk bin. Sort of opposite of how the Ferrari above has it. That'd potentially put it near the foam hood bulge. It's also possible they've added mesh to it since those early helicopter shots. The GMAuthority photos showing that angle are inconclusive.

I have both a C7 and Cadillac ATS-V.

Regarding customer service, Cadillac is light years ahead of Chevy. So if GM decided to move the Corvette brand under Cadillac, it would be the correct move in my opinion.
