New Mid-Engine Corvette C8 Spy Pictures Reveal New Lighting, Exhaust Details (By Alex Luft)
With every day, we’re getting closer and closer to the launch of the mid-engine Corvette. Granted, that day is still quite in the future, but sighting of C8 prototypes testing in California and Colorado has become significantly more common than in the past.
And now, new details are starting to come into focus though the camo, as these mid-engine Corvette spy photos provide a better look at the Corvette’s lighting elements, including the arrangement of the headlights as well as the rear-end treatment.
Mid-Engine Corvette Headlights
We don’t yet see the final design of the headlights, as they are still undergoing development, but we do get a good look at how the final arrangement will be configured, and likely its final shape, as well.
Mid-Engine Corvette Rear End
At the rear, this Corvette C8 prototype is wearing new sculpting details around the rear valance, especially the diffuser and exhaust.
Dual exhaust outlets huge the valance on both sides, resulting in a quad exhaust setup. Notably, the tips have a square shape, which is in contrast to the current Corvette C7 family’s round tips. The valance, meanwhile, has a trapezoidal shape with a prominent inward indentation in the center of the bottom end. The arrangement looks quite bold and aggressive, from what we can tell thus far.
Confirmation
Rumored for the last several years, the mid-engine Corvette C8 is quickly coming into its own. In fact, a dealer at last week’s national Chevrolet dealer meeting let slip that Chevy executives showed some images of the future Corvette sports car, fully confirming the vehicle’s existence in the future-product pipeline.
The mid-engine Corvette C8 is expected to launch for the 2020 model year sometime in the 2019 calendar year. Stay tuned for more Corvette news.

It's looking good!
I do think there is still some heavy camo on the nose, does it look weird to anyone else in the first pic? Like there is an extension piece sitting at a weird angle on the front? Hard to say, but it looks odd.

I always love new commentary but sometimes I wonder what type of background these analysts have at these major magazines/blogs. He states "most likely final design" for the headlights. If you have done any basic research on test mules, rarely do they show final designs of the headlights out in the open. Headlights are a major design feature of cars today and they would not put something so important out in the open like this. Granted, this very well could be the final arrangement but I would never go so far to say" final" arrangement.
Essentially, the best "analysts" are really the people who post on the forums here(not me). These are the guys in the real world so I am excited to see what people say with these new photos

noticed the rear deck buttress on the Black wheel mule. I think this may be thee VERT but note the lack of C pillar in this view and the "apparent" long deck surface which looks similar to the 720 in this view.
May mean a very narrow/ sleek looking rear window/buttress.

As per earlier/below picture, the steering wheel has a flattened top. Given that flattened bottom’s are now not only “in,” but also help entering and exiting the vehicle, sure we will see a both flattened and bottomed wheel. FrankLP pointed this out earlier (thanked him, and credit to him). He also provided the following “squared” steering wheel picture from Fernando Alonso’s LaFerrari.

The person who recorded this today at Nurburgring thinks this is the C8

The Adventador SVJ looks like an LMP1 car, and the 488 was by far the smoothest car on track.
Jim was booking it in the ZR1. The cornering speeds that the car achieves are insane, especially for $125,000. That poor golf R though...

Promise you those are testing mule headlights. Definitely not the final design headlights. Those are the same mule headlights from C6/C7. Plus, they do not go with the car in anyway lol. I hate to say this, but I am starting to get bored of looking at the same exact mule with same exact padding/Camo. Take a little bit off for us GM, damn! It has been months now!
