Has anyone noticed that the side profile proportions of the C & D render seem somewhat similar to the Cadillac Cien (or is it just me)? Assuming C & D is correct, is this coincidence or just GM leveraging some previous mid-engine design work?

I'm not so sure. The C7 Stingray debuted as the 2014 model year, and the first C7 Z06 was a 2015 model. If they follow the same release cadence, and the C8 debuts as a 2020 model, you will be able to order a C8 Z06 in less than 3 years.

The side mirrors are for seeing what's to your SIDES!

I've been trying to set my wife's side view mirrors correctly for 19 years. She thinks I'm just an A-hole that won't stop messing with them

MikeG,

I know you better than that. You are just a kind person trying to keep his wife safe and sound by adjusting her door mirrors properly.

My having driven long haul, tractor with doubles, learning how to drive 1000% with just side mirrors, you bet that their adjustment is critical!

When my dad was teaching me to drive one thing that he drilled into my head, that actually stuck..
"if your shoulders move when you're changing lanes or merging fix your damn mirrors!"
He drove a truck at one time too.

Front clip looks great, the rear and profile meh. Front raised part makes it look like an Enzo.

No stick no buy.

I have to wonder a ME design would weigh more than a front engine car.

It looks like my C6 was the lightest 'vette of all.

Technically the 1955 Corvette is the lightest of all at 2,805 lbs. but the C5Z and even the C6Z were both masters at weight management.

No surprise there...without all the Federally-mandated safety bits that gave been added since the C6 came out, I'd say that stat is safe. I remember when I bought a 370Z in 2009 it was smaller than a 359Z and added a carbon fiber driveshaft, aluminum doors, aluminum front and rear hatch...and still came in about 200 lbs heavier than the 350Z.

Just redesign that rear fender inlet so it slants forward instead of backward! The way it is now with the backward slant makes the side of the car look disjointed.
