May Car & Driver has ME on the cover...

95% love the C7’s looks. It won more awards in its first year out than any other vehicle before or since.
For those who are worried about the ME’s looks, please remember that you have the same team (only one substitution), that designed the C7.
I am not worried; conversely, I am excited!

Can't wait! This is going to get many satisfied corvette and Porsche owners to purchase a new corvette c8.
I fully. Expect owners of Italian exotics to buy one as their daily driver sports car.
A vehicle they can use as often as they like and not even for a moment worry about putting on too many miles of smiles!
Use it or lose it baby!
500 hp, a dct and a price starting around 65 g's!

16 Vettes and counting…..
This would be a stunning ME Corvette in 2002. It's too tall with a bulbous hood and a fat ***....and even the camo car shows more sleekness.
Not worried at all....the real thing will be a smash. I need a bigger garage.

Not worried at all...
The C7 is a brilliant exception. Far from a guarantee.
Be worried.

Were you worried when the Corvette devolved from the exciting, original C3, to a bland, slab-sided wedge in the C4? Were you worried when the C5 proved to be a note-for-note copy of a 6-year-old Mazda design with a fat ***?

If this is the car, I would reconsider my deposit on one. I am not at all thrilled with the simplicity nor the apparent weight of the car. It looks overweight to me! I have higher expectations for design from the GM design team. They are much more talented then this. This is not a car that will thrill a world wide crowd. At least not from the design arena.
i'm disappointed because i too expected a much more exotic(ferrari,lambo) looking C8.
They evidently started with a blank page do make something really new looking, but played it too safe imo.
It certainly will break from all previous Corvettes and that should make it a hit.

I am okay with it and think some angles look very nice. The rear is off and to boxy and I feel C/D did not capture the lower valance based off spy shots. Like John said I bet the hood is high because they wanted to fit more cargo in the front trunk. ( Sacrificed looks for usability. Had to have two Golf bags) Personally, I want a sports car and care less about my golf bags that is why I have a SUV.

Porsche and exotic car owners are interested in the badge.....and prestige
that goes with it.....
The only Chebby they might consider would be a pick up truck

From "Poor Man's Ferrari" to "Duplicate Ferrari".
It took me a while to register that the car in the showroom was not a Corvette, but an F12 Berlinetta.
With this C8, call it "Corrari".

Oh wow, so, no one else has said it yet huh? My reactions to Chevrolet design team future releases:
2019 Silverado - kind of a sad, throwup-y feeling.
2019 Camaro - disappointment, but not as strong negative reaction as example above.
2020 Corvette - hope, inarguably the best of the three, but still, it's gonna be a nail-biter.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I'm far from being good at photoshop but I tried.
I think it gets my point across that the back wheel looks small in the original.
I made it larger, brought in the side where the door is and tried to lower the hood and front area.
I'm sure someone else will do it proper unlike my hack job.

Very exciting to see this on the cover of C&D, even though their render is not as accurate or as impressive as those we have here on the Forum. C7 pimp has addressed the concerns I had with the C&D render. It will be far more impressive in the flesh. Even more impressive will be the power these cars will produce. Count me in on the 800 hp variant

I'm ok with it. I like the Hagerty rending better. Either way...sign me up. I am just hoping the convertible version comes out at the same time and the cost isn't substantially higher than the C7 Grand Sport Vert.
