They tried to remain NA (not flat plane crank) and reach their power goals. They could reach the power goals NA, but they couldn't do it and comply with the EPA's tailpipe emission limits.

If this is anything like the C7 ZR1 article in C&D, you need to read in-between the lines. Remember, GM wants to be the one to give all the really good details. So the HP, weight, and performance figures are typically a little lower than actual. The renderings are typically a little numbed down from the production car. Everything gets better once GM goes public.

Who is this 95%? Feel free to prove it.
And it got more awards than 'any other vehicle before or since'? Wow...that's just as bold a statement. Go back and look at the number of awards the 84' Vette received or the 97' Vette. Pretty sure you will find them plentiful. And not limiting it to Corvette, because you did say 'vehicle', have a gander at the awards for the Ferrari 458, or the 92' Viper, or any 911 Turbo, Veyron, XJ220, the list can go on for quite a while with cars that arguably received more awards than the C7. I have no interest in doing the research, just a lifetime of car enthusiast info. If you have done the research and can prove that 95% love the C7 looks and that it has received more awards than any other vehicle in history, or even just Corvette in history, would love to read it.

Looking at the high belt-line and windows, they better have blind-spot monitoring standard on all models. Rear window has to look like a "tank slit" with the severe rake. Even worse than the Ferrari's rear window.

Some of the lines and angles look good, but overall it's too bland looking IMO and that rear is hideous! But I'm confident the Corvette design will come through with an amazing design!

Made some adjustments on the C&D version. Compared to the spy images, the wheelbase was off as well as the window line, roof line and overhangs.
Still, as others commented, this render like mine is most likely a tame version of the real car...

LOL, they got one thing right and that is those UGLY snowflake wheels. Goodness I didn't think they could get any worse then the new ZR1 wheel but this did it. Funny how the front end looks like the 458, and the rear bumper looks like a 2010 GTR. I hope it gets better then that. I do kind of like the front end however, I want to see some massive interior upgrades this time, just like the c7 did.

I think the render of the C8 looks nice. The front looks very very much like the C7 I think, especially compared to the ZR1. The main difference is the side profile which looks nice to me.
I don't like the rear that much though at this point. The tails look like the Camaro's and the overall look of the rear looks like the Lexus LFA which I don't like. I hope they clean up the rear.
