Is there a reason every render is ignoring this image of the rear fender? We haven't seen any side view CAD images, so wouldn't this be the only evidence we have? There's clearly an opening just inches from the rear wheel arch.

Here's an older spy pic for comparison.

I know nothing is in stone but I think FVS has most of the car fairly close and the C&D rendering just makes the look chunky and bloated.

I suspect you are right but hope you are wrong... the camo'd cars are just SO long in appearance. If you look at the comparison above of the Acura, Lambo and Ferrari, the shorter C&D version is more on scale. If the car is as long as the camo cars, I fear it will look like a stretched limo.

There actually is a cad image of the rear three-quarter view. See below.

There seems to be a definite wraparound to that area you are referring to but not very much. I show it in the side views but it seems to be slight. The cad image does not indicate that the vent wraps around the side very much

Sorry I didn't make myself clear. I was referring to black rear fender with the blue arrow sitting next to the rear fascia.

I see, thanks. I’ll try to enhance the image and see if we can see anything

Side rear view looks like a KIA

top of rear fender too thick, looks like baby w dirty diaper. Ferrari rear profile much much better.

lets hope real car looks better

I suspect there is no foam per se, just heavily padded wrap.

Please GM, don't copy Ferrari with the headlights, hope the renderings are wrong. Love the cars but the mid engine needs to stand out from the crowd.

AS the corvette moves to rear mid engine the camaro can leave retro behind and copy something similiar to the portifino...now that would be cool

This is also likely the base car. The Z06 and ZR1 variants will likely look more exotic/aggressive.

Corvette should take from it’s own design history.
Corvette has an excellent design history.
why are there NO gills on the car?
yes the C6DP is a race car but Chevy really needs to improve the rear 1/4 styling. Not as aggressive as the DP but a lot more aggressive than this rendering
The C8 front end is very nice. The rear quarter over the wheel is the mess. It should look a lot more like the C6 DP. I see no reason for that large flat mass over rear wheels. Looks like was designed by LITTLE TYKES & just Mamés rear tire look smaller than front

Default I applaud the optimism, but

There's no substantive difference in design form between the higher performance Vettes and the base model. If the base model is a styling success, the uprated versions will be as well. But ground effects, scoops and racing stripes can't fix bad design.

Well, I personally feel my base model c6 is a bland as you get. I think the z06 and zr1 cars are 10x better looking.

Fwiw...i digi my standard black c6 z51 m6...

I suggest c7 z51 black 19/20 inch rims to create a more contemporary look from your c6.

If you still feel your c6 is bland...then selling would serve you well.

I have no desire to sell it until the c8 zo6 model hits discount status. Looks alone is not why I buy cars. My point was only that there is a significant appearance difference from the base model to upper end models on recent Corvette models. Everyone is expecting supercar looks from a 70k car. That is not realistic. You will get closer on the 90k z06 versions.

It ll be interesting to see the first release of the standard rear mid engine and then how the vehicle is differiated to signal the higher performance models.

I think the rendering is awesome. I might even consider trading in my base C6 on one and that’s saying something because as we all know the base C6 up to now is the pinnacle of Corvette design 😈
