I don’t understand this logic. Assuming once the strike ends it will likely mean that UAW workers either got exactly what they wanted or they met 8n the middle. Why would they be irate about more pay and better benefits??

Really? You honestly think people would do that and it not get caught within a few models. Plus, this isn't a sonic. People in bowling green take great pride in making this car. I think anyone caught sabotaging the car would be dragged out and beaten by the rest of the line workers.

How exactly would you accomplish this? You are in an open area with people and cameras everywhere, you are tasked with specific jobs that can likely be traced directly back to you..... At the very least you would lose your job. I just cant imagine them doing that, its self defeating? Would you do that? People are not always nice to me at work, but my own integrity and sense of right and wrong and self worth would prevent me from doing anything like that and frankly I don't personally know anyone who would do such a thing. Maybe I am a cupcake and they all gather at the end of the assembly line and **** into the footwells.....

I have not been to bowling green, but from what I understand Stingray is correct, they like the cars as much as we do...

Never worked in a closed Union shop?

Just a few small washers and screws, even if brought onto the line, thrown in body cavities would create consumer havoc with unknown rattles for years!!

It has occurred.

If this Union had any sense they would have settled by now. GM has the highest employee cost per hour in total. How are they to remain competitive? Silverado no longer number 2. Ram has taken its place with a cost advantage. Think Chevy can keep that under $60k base price? Think again.

Even if caught, the Union PROTECTS VIGOROUSLY if disciplinary action is taken.

The Union creates a hostile atmosphere. Look at their news releases. Their employees are told GM is holding out on them for no good reason. Employee strike benefits are a joke. After weeks out of work, how do you think some of these folks will feel?

Those are pretty disparaging comments, I seriously doubt this is an issue, but then again, it has been a pretty **** car for a lot of years, maybe there is some truth to your comments?

it was not a vette, but I did buy a new car....and after months they disassembled and found a shop rag stuffed down into my defrost duct. the kind of people who do this work every where. but in Kentucky, where far too many are meth heads, makes me pause.

We had both GM and Ford plants in NJ years ago and I knew several employees on both sides. The stories are unreal. One guy never bothered putting a grommet (or something of that nature) accurately on the firewall of the vehicles that he worked on. Sometimes he didn't even bother putting it on at all.

“Pretty **** car for a lot of years”? Wow, I think some of the posters here need to find a different car.

I don't think the OP is one of the C8 crowd. I think he is a pretender, who now is having second thoughts and wants an excuse to back out.

That said, yeah, I cannot believe the apparent stupidity of people who seem to be well-off enough to buy one. Maybe they are (were?) barely educated and over-paid union workers?

Don't ever buy food in any type of restaurant again. Because I can guarantee your food will be spiced with spit, urine, pubic hair and dandruff.
Nibble on that.

That’s just how the mothership checks the competency of the dealer troubleshooters. Warranty rate on that job was 1.8hrs....... find a different dealer.
