If they really wanted to hide, they would have the windows tinted. They're out there for free advertising and excitement building (besides testing, of course).

As people have said, if they are going to Germany for autobahn testing, they could stop at the Nurburgring for some industry test sessions. If they do, we may see the black layer of camo come off for the first time.

I agree it looks strange. The good news is that it looks strange because it is not the actual car. The vents below the tailights will not be the strange shaped trapezoids as shown in the above rendering. Additonally, the tailights, thanks to CAD drawing and C7pimp’s explicit amplification from the CAD as to what they look like, are also wrong above, i.e., the ME’s taillights are not C7 replicas.

The rear of the mule dose not look as tall as the red render, which looks more like C7 rear height. I know they are putting an engine back there, but I am hoping for less height in the azz end.

Full disclosure. I borrowed this from another thread here. Equally applies here if not more so.

The convertible clearly has a vertical rear window and fat buttresses, NOT like the one above.
In this image as an example of a coupe, the covering appears to be supported by a fastback window

I think from an aerodynamic standpoint the fastback with the glass is slightly better than the tunnel back design even though it looks great both ways...
To help distinguish a difference in appearance I believe the folding hardtop design will have the tunnel back design and the lift off targa will have a fast back design.
The wind buffeting of the hatchback versus the tunnel back design will be slightly higher again justifying the extra cost of the spyder version for many.
I don’t mind the wind buffeting as I just turn up the music but for those that do..the extra money for the automatic push button removal of the top makes sense too..
I’m happy lifting the targa off manually ...it makes me laugh as I don workout gloves on the rare occasion I don’t already have the roof off and the searing heat requires I reach back and put on a pair of gloves..
That targa top sure does get searing hot...
That said almost all summer long except if it’s raining I keep the roof off.
I am curious if the roof goes in the front trunk or behind the seats vertically in the manually lifted targa..
If there is no targa lift off roof except the spyder then that’s 7 or 8grand I’ll be spending without question.
I love driving with the roof off...money be dammed...
I think GM will do both a manual targa and a spyder as the air bag requirements for open top cars is slightly different and rather than engineer to solutions it’s just less expensive to engineer a targa roof..
I think that was the reason the solstice gap coupe had a targa top even though it didn’t fit in the trunk when removed...(which was ridiculous and I’m sure the corvette team of engineers would never do that )
Spy shots of the rear mid engine corvette is looking dam good..
I wonder how they will do a wide body version grand sport and z06 model or if they even will bother...
Should be an exciting time to be a corvette enthusiast as this new model releases

Must be a favored GM/Chevy testing area. I saw my l first ZR1--all yellow and out in the open--last year heading south on Rt. 41 in Naples. Never saw so many heads turn so fast as it went by!
