Default So Its About 1 Year Before the BG Plant Starts Churning The ME Out..

That is if its really a 2020 model. How much do you think the Dealers know about the car at this point?

Very little. While a few know as much as we do (and we know what we know is “debatable”), when I talk with second and third tier Corvette dealers (except rare one those that personally own their own Corvette), it is surprising how many know so little.

Of course, LOL, GM may be reading our threads and saying, it is surprising how many know so little.

Same here ,
I'm getting the dealerships first C8,
like i got the first C7.

Small market dealership, fantastic people on all levels.

GM doesn’t really keep them in the know...
so I send them all the videos from this forum,
they’re actually astonished this mid engine business is happening.

That’s a design disaster ...
The C8 prototypes ,even with those “pampers” on look better then that.

Wow — I know design is “subjective” but I think you are in a very small minority...

I was thinking if the ME Vette looks close to that nice it will be great...

NONE of the renders so far do anything for me.
A Corvette ME had better be revolutionary-looking or I won't consider one.

THe dealers know nothing and their salemen for the most part know even less.

their job is to sell the vehicles they have in stock or on order and that’s about the long and short of it.

could be wrong but I doubt it...

OK, this is just my opinion, but I think it depends on which dealer you're referring to. If it's Small Time Chevrolet in Podunk County that sells three C7s a year, they probably know what we know or less. However, if it's one of the top ten dealers with a dedicated Corvette salesperson(s), that have demonstrated they can keep a confidence, I'd be surprised if they don't know more than we do. I'd be surprised if some of the top sales people haven't been contacted to ask their opinion on certain matters. But we'll never know because those folks won't divulge that information. Just my $.02

I agree.
I would like to see something unique and not the run of the mill, which is what we're seeing in these renderings, most of which are nice, don't get me wrong. But a lot of these manufacturers copy each other to some degree. I guess there's only so many configurations with today's current technology, Not to mention just going with what Is trendy and popular.

I wouldn't mind them stepping outside of the box and doing something very bold ,and I don't mean just the tail lights... ha ha But just based on what we're seeing with the spy shots it's not going to be anything too radical . That being said I'm sure it will be a gorgeous car that will turn a lot of heads , Just as the C7 did when it was unveiled .

A good many of the "sales people" out there couldn't walk you around the current Corvette, much less the car that doesn't even exist.

In the spring of 2004 I was a green pea at a dealership that was the top Corvette dealer in the city. That dealership had a GM that raced a Corvette in SCCA, as well as sponsored the largest Corvette club in the Midwest. Even at that time, though we were selling C5's at bottom dollar, there was very little info about the upcoming C6, at least that I saw. We were taking preorders, being a rookie I wasn't involved in that, but there was zero chatter around the dealership about the car. Their motto was "don't see what you can sell, sell what you can see".

Of course, LOL, GM may be reading our threads and saying, it is surprising how many know so little.

John - perhaps you can sweet talk your Corvette team contacts into commencing their tease campaign. The natives are restless.

I wish I could, but I am smartly not contacting a single one of them at this time. The last thing any of them want to hear is another question of “future potential product” that they have to deflect. I read a major media interview of Tadge about a month ago, and even though he politely answered with firm “future potential product deflect” response at least twice in the first couple of minutes (again being tactful yet clear that he was not answering anything about future product), the reporter asked him at least five times more before that relatively short interview was over.

Must get tiring being a member of the top Corvette team getting question after question on the same forbidden to talk about subject (meaning I do not want to lose my job by answering it). I will bet they all can not wait for the reveal so that they can share a whole bunch about the car.

Now as to receiving unsolicited phone calls in the middle of the night, please keep them coming.
