C8.R spied testing in camo

Corvette Racing had to get it out on track if they are going to campaign it next season.
I'm sure they have already petitioned IMSA for a Ford GT Exemption.
It's about TIME they threw us a bone...
LOL, I'm sure they will be scarce around here for awhile...

NOPE. ABSOLUTELY NO WAY. I'LL BELIEVE WHEN IT SEE IT...oh wait, there it is...a mid-engine Corvette.
I wish there was a way to round up the geniuses that despite overwhelming proof, still defend the notion that GM will never build a mid-engine vette...and revoke their forum cards.

I think from the brief sound clip is sound closer to my 458 than it does to the Ford Gt 6 CYC .
I don't see GM every going to a 6 CYC in any Corvette .
I suspect 4.2 l V8 twin turbo as the 5.5l twin turbo is too large of displacement per IMSA.
I believe the rule state 4.2 twin turbo max displacement and 5.5 l max for NA engines.
In fact BMW again had to ask and receive a waiver for the M8 with its 4.4 l twin turbo.
But we all know BMW always has to ask for sometype of waiver in an attempt to be competitive.
The restrictions on displacement is why GM went from 6.2 l down to 5.5 l was to comply with the IMSA rule book.
I will be very happy if the C8 sound anything like my 458 which has the best sounding engine I have ever heard. The flat plane crank at 9k rmp is a sound to behold.
I will miss the thunder of the OHV V8 but Corvette has to go DOHC and turbo to remain competitive.
I am as big a Corvette guy as the next and have supported the racing team sense 2000 but in all honesty we remain competitive now due to BOP and having the greatest GT team in the world.
Many of our finishes are based on great strategy and great execution more than out right lap times.

FVS, I think your overall newest design changes above in red is best. Except those skinny ‘red’ areas of the tail lights, IMO still do not look tall enough. Much better proportions H x W for the taillights and overall on the rear facia on the yellow ME.
EDIT: But I do like how your red ME tail lights wrap around to the side thus essentially eliminating the rear red side marker.

A front engine Corvette with the long hood line, sharp edges and a thumping V8 will likely be around as long as the OHV V8 is produced. You'll likely see it campaigned either in GTD or another series. I still believe the ME we are seeing will be the "Zora" or something else and not C8. We saw the ZL1 1LE Camaro for quite some time all the while assuming it was the new Z28, something similar likely to happen here. I don't know, pure speculation.

I usually dont jump to conclusions this early in the game, but I am not sure how I feel about that side scoop.
@c7 pimp is that what you saw?

The production version may not be like this and may be a bit more subtle.
I'm going to do a line drawing to try and sort out the true lines.

Me too! I never felt the curved side intake fit with the rest of the angular designs.
I also agree with FVS that on the street car it will be far less aggressive.
Can't wait to see FVS new rendering with the more angular side intake. He has done exceptional work and the more we see exposed it looks like he is very close to what the final car will look like.
With that said rendering never look as good as the cars do in person when the 3 dimensions are much more vivid.
Hope FVS has something for us soon. I think we all appreciate all his hard work and the time he has spent getting us through the dog days of summer while we all wait for January revel.
I hope this is a clear sign that we will see the C8 at The 24 hours of Daytona.
Still not sure how GM gets around showing the car at the Roar Before the 24 and the Detroit Auto show which is latter in January?

Nothing about that says "Corvette" to me. It looks like a mashup between a Huracan and an NSX.
