I think its hilarious that anyone thinks the c8 is going to look anything like the c8r. All of the fairy tale lotto winners think theyre gonna buy a Ferrari or Lambo looking vette for 60k is laughable.
The car in these pics is wayyyyyyyy exagerated in proportions to any road going version GM will produce.

its fun to read all of the crazy posts.

Do we really think the ME will have those top mounted scoups like the C7? I'd think with those huge side scoops you wouldn't want to add the scoups on the top since it increases drag and dirties the air for the rear wing.

Amazingly the same nonsense was said when the Stingray was actually on stage for the first time in Detroit.

Other than a few minor race additions that's the car's overall shape.

I replied earlier to the same Q. The CAD image shows the rear fender top intake similar to the c7. I have no reason to doubt it is there...in the street version.

You may be right about the dirty air for the big wing so it may not be on the R model...and we can not see it there in the spy pics.

Take a look at the CAD. Note the GREEN duct in the wheel well leading to the top of the fender.

C8-R will have the same relationship with the C8 as the C7-R does to the C7. In other words nearly identical in terms of basic design.

They are awesome! A very different design than the competition.

Pretty much looks that way.

With the exception of the ground effects "skirt" and nose/grill/rear splitter, it seems to be identical.

Raise the body a few inches and that's the car.

Can't wait to see the "details" and treatments which will put this design over the top. It should be a stunner.!

100% disagree. The current C7 ZR1 is absolutely disgusting to look at. I really hope the "boy racer" mentality is gone from the design group now that they had their stupid fun on the ZR1.
GM can offer it as a wing for those who must show off...........I'll take the clean lines.

Cant wat to see the barebones C8 ,with no wings , the smallest wheels, and the narrowest body.

The aero is functional before aesthetic. I prefer a cleaner look as well, but can't argue with the functionality.

It's gonna have both. Clean lines and a big functional wing.

Jury is out whether that sharp juncture intersection on the C8R will appear on the ME. I like FVS’s latest interpretation where those two scoop lines come together on ~45 deg with a slight curve upon intersecting point. More astatic and longer lasting as a design feature going forward IMO.

As to being ‘hideous’, I wouldn’t go that far. It does take me back to the first time on CF there was a number of negative posts when first seeing the C7 Competition Seats. I still can imagine that vision today wher they looked like a ‘Big Eyed Alien with a Head Ache’

Sorry but true, to me at least.

What is funny to me is these same conversations are almost identical to EVERY launch of a new body style, when the C5 was to be released it looked like a Barnum and Bailey circus act, before during and after the launch. The C7 was not far behind and now the C8 is hitting a fever pitch. Like a script, the marketing department is doing a great job of handing out "carrots". Me thinks they do have it figured out, we are just the players of the game.

My hope is they offer the low wing, not a fan of the big wing, but that being said, since the ZR1 and ZL1 Camaro came out, I have gotten used to it and am starting to warm to it. Only thing I really care, is the WIDE back and LOTS of rubber to look at from behind. It is what makes the GS and Z's. To me that look is undeniably the high lite of those models.

I agree with the JLo idea- but the rear views of the car suggest a fairly low- down sloping tail. Very toned rear end.
