Default I don’t care about GM’s July reveal, when is the price reveal?

I don’t care about GM’s July reveal hype, I want to know pricing. I’m sure the car will be fast and pretty (ie, C6 and C7), but can I have it in my garage?

It’s like when a buddy shows me a pretty girl on Instagram, “Sure she looks nice, but do you have any chance of taking her home?”

When has pricing been revealed in the past?

It may be hinted at around July reveal time, but final pricing won't be announced until the order book opens probably some time in the fall. However, I think it's safe to say if you can afford a base C7 at current MSRP, you may have to stretch a little, but you'll be able to afford a base C8 at MSRP. Don't expect discount pricing any time soon.

Agree w. above. And while the hint or range may come in the fall, the final number may be even later. Hard as that might be to accept.

GT500 still hasn't been announced, and that was revealed in January. Gladiator wasn't released until a couple weeks out of hitting lots. Not saying thats what GM will do, but those are two highly anticipated cars without pricing available anywhere near reveal.

C7 revealed 1/13/13 pricing was announced late April. Deliveries began late summer...expect something similar.

Or it could be the same day like they used to do in the old days.

I ran across this raffle for a 2020 base LT Corvette coupe, to be drawn on Oct 12, 2019. Estimated MSRP of $60,545.

Interesting, although that does state price may change due to new information, as it was in the tax withholdings section. Wonder if they just tossed in something as a placeholder because they legally had to?

And on a side note, I hate raffles like this:

"There will be three tickets drawn. The first ticket drawn will be the Third Prize winner. The second ticket drawn will be the Second Prize winner. The third ticket drawn will be the First Prize winner."

So I enter a raffle for a Corvette, and have may name drawn first or second, I don't even have the chance at a Corvette. Silly.

A GM official already stated a while ago 'if you can afford a C7 Grand Sport, you can afford a base C8'.

Keep in mind one of the reasons people can "afford" C7's today is also due to incentives. Which typically range from 10-25% off MSRP. MSRP has not meant much in C7 world since the first 12-18 months when the car was released.

"If you can afford a Grand Sport you can afford a C8" is probably based on MSRP. In reality anyone that pays MSRP for a Grand Sport has more money than brains as you can find deep incentives on them to the tune of $10-13K off MSRP on a regular basis.

I can buy a brand new GS right now for mid $50K range. Noway the C8 will be priced mid to low $50's.

But here's my problem. At $169K I'm not a buyer, but at <$70K I'm listening. It's not just price, but value. Following the frugal rule of car buying, keep your car out the door price to no more than 1/6th of your annual gross income. Never stretch to buy an expense item, only stretch to buy items that produce income.

My rule of car buying for sports cars is never buy a brand new one. I typically buy 1-2 year old ones that have a CPO warranty and low miles. Let someone take that 20%+ depreciation hit the first year.

Maybe I can hold off on buying one when I see pictures. But if one pulls up at a car meet and it looks wickedly exotic at $60k, logic may have a hard time holding on for 12 months.

This has been a Corvette tradition...and one of Chevy's secrets to keeping the car alive for 60+ years.

Depends on the base MSRP of the C8. If it is $58-60K? I think they will find it to be true and people will stretch. If it's over $63K or so? I dunno. Factoring taxes, dealer fees, DMV fees, etc you are pushing $70K easy.

The C8 is looking like a much bigger jump in MSRP than the C6 to C7 jump was.

$70K auto loan @2.9% for 60 months is $1255 a month. I'm not sure there are 30-40K buyers a year who might be able to stretch into a $70K impractical gas guzzling sports car.

I can't believe all this worry and angst over the price. Lutz said years ago that they could do a ME Corvette within $5K of the original, and all of the reporting since then has supported his claim. All we know about the C8 also fits with that price since the only item that will be more expensive than on the C7 is the Tremec DCT Transaxle. Even more telling is the investment in BGA and the announced extra shift that is specifically to fulfill C8 demand. GM plan to sell a shitload of C8s and there is no way that happens if they jack the base price by $10 or $20 thousand.

Base price will not be one cent over $65,000. You can take that to the bank. PM me for my paypal address if you want to donate any funds.

I really hope that the car is priced a little higher so they are no so common. However, the version I am interested in will not be out for a year or two depending on what you read. Afraid this will be a typical GM and it will be made as cheaply as possible on the inside.

A Chevy priced higher so it won't be so common......hmmm. I'd say if you want a car that is not so common, you may want to look at the expensive exotics or a classic. Of course, depending on where you live, even those expensive exotics might be common. I'm sure you probably didn't mean it, but your statement comes off as being selfish. I can almost guarantee you that GM would love to sell enough of them, that they would be common.
