Is this the real C8?
I wonder why there are camouflaged C7s running around. Is this a facelift for the C7 or testing of the real C8 and the mid-engine is completely different? 16:08 mark.

Probably drivetrain for the C8? Aesthetic changes for the final leg of the C7?

Why camouflage an existing C7 unless it had noticeable body changes? If they are only testing engineering or mechanical parts or systems, why camouflage it at all? Just draws attention to it.Maybe it’s a red herring? Send out a few C7 Corvettes with camo on them and make people think somethings going on?

Im pretty confident that GM isn't going to camo a C7 just to start rumors. It could be something minor and relatively unexciting like a commemorative edition for the last C7 year. But it is camoed for a reason.
Maybe <starts rumor> it is a C7 with new aero and cooling testing the LT2 engine for the FE C8.

Even more strange is the license plates. I could be wrong, but I don't think I've ever seen a GM development car that wasn't wearing Michigan manufacturer license plates. Those are not Michigan plates. I wonder if these belong to a component supplier rather than GM. I wish we knew more specifically where those photos were taken.

I think it's a C8 FE early mule. Rear wheel is definitely different than anything we've seen, but it's got a current Z51 front wheel. Fenders also don't look normal for some reason...like it's masking a slightly wider track than the current Stingray.

I think it is a proto to production comparison done by the video. No verification that there are any C7s running around in camo at this time. There is ZERO reality in GM producing a FE and ME at the BGA plant.

I noticed the wheels too. I suppose the camo doing its job, because its looks normal to me. lol

Except for the reality that the mid engine will be a 2020 and it's already verified the C7 will run beyond that model year....so.....how you figure they won't build both side by side?

January 24 th 2019 i believe is the date manufacturers can introduce 2020 models..including the C7 model.
added residual value for corvettes ...its a smart move.

Or MAYBE it's a test mule for the front engine layout version of the C8?

It's someone who either has too much time on their hands and decided to wrap their C7 in camouflage pattern to eff with the internet, or someone who has too much time AND money on their hands and like the camouflaged pattern a little too much.
Since prototypes for testing are not TITLED, they must run generic "dealer" plates from the state where they originated from. No Michigan plates? Not a GM prototype.

Roush Engineering/Industries perhaps? They have done OEM development before. Could be them. They have a facility in North Carolina I think.
The plate looks to be like this one: https://www.autoevolution.com/news/s...2.html#agal_11
Or Texas.
