i know the engine is turned somewhat (axle point est by A) and the size relationships I illustrate may be off +/-, I think we will be surprised by the rear storage space B to C (more so top to bottom than side to side). That along with the frunk space with no spare tire.

If the C8 has good storage space, I hope it's because they "found" it and not "created" it. Creating a larger car than necessary adds extra weight, affects handling (overhangs), etc.

Golf is the DUMBEST game ever invented and a waste of a lot of real estate. I got so frustrated the last time I played I took my bag, clubs and the whole bit straight to Goodwill and never looked back. All I want in the C8 is enough room for two roll-aboard suitcases. If they can do that, its a winner.

Agree 100%! Room for suitcases is storage that anyone can use; golf bags are a very specific subset of buyers. And they can still put their golf bag in the passenger seat area.

It's an amazing car, no two ways about it. But there are very important lessons to be learned from the above.

NOBODY didn't buy the Viper because it "looks too awesome." And conservative design is a formula for long term failure as your core audience dies off.

Such a variant should be available (the C6 Z06 did it for less money AND more livable — which is why they sold so many).

The Viper is in hibernation for two simple reasons 1) new emissions, fuel mileage, and air bag rules necessitated a redesign that Dodge isn't quite ready to do, and 2) The Hellcats, Demons, and Red Eyes are serving as halo cars well enough that they don't need the Viper at present.

IMO, the Dodge Challenger/Demon/Hellcat are the most overrated cars out there. Any guy can throw HP at a V8 these days and make it go fast in a straight line. These cars still handle like garbage and are a significantly lesser value for the $$ than the mustang, camaro, corvette, M3, RS5, etc. A 460 hp Camaro or Mustang with destroy a 700hp Hellcat around a track. That's not even the ZL1 1LE or the GT350/R.

Garbage chassis with tons of horsepower. Whoopdy $#!+

They also exist because of the point made about lower cost models sharing the RnD. The car was already paid for. Dropping a more powerful engine and larger brakes cost virtually nothing in comparison.

The REAL reason for there not being a redesign is the low sales didn't justify it.
People forget the Viper only had yearly sales in the HUNDREDS at the end.

True enough.

The whole point of going to a ME platform is to further advance the performance of the Vette. I hope its not a compromise car to please a certain group. Its needs to be 100% about performance first. I'd gladly give up storage space for a lighter, better performing Corvette. And PLEASE, no chrome wheels this gen.! lol

I would rather have chrome than crappy flat black colored wheels. When I see the overplayed black colored wheels on a car, I immediately think they have spare tires on. Give me machined or chrome any day.

Or compromise with Black Chrome wheels along black chrome accents and logos.

I would be okay with this. In my opinion, there was far too many black accents on the C7 for chrome wheels to look good.

"Over the top" does not equal "looks too awesome".

The C7 ZR1 = Over the Top. Yes it looks good, but it also looks like something Adam West's Batman would have approved of. To many people, it's not a cool look. Like maybe it's a wee bit silly.

911 Variants = Classy + sporty at the same time. Until the "just buy a Porsche" thread, I didn't realize that there were people that didn't like the way a modern Porsche looks. They have an understated, classic design, that still manages in many variants, to look very sporty.

My point about the Viper, is I would just feel a little silly driving anywhere but to the race track in it. And I happen to love that car.
