C8 at the Ring
#21
I find it highly entertaining how everyone's 0.02 is different.
When I first saw the C8.R spy shots my initial reaction was . I have no doubt it is fast but aesthetically it's a no go for me. The front looks too tiny and too thin. There's a line running from thin front to the gigantic rear quarters that makes the whole thing look like a flying wedge. That works for a dedicated race car but not (IMO) for the next generation Corvette. And the side scoop inlet is seems crazy severe as well.
Today I see these ME at the ring shots and a breathe a big sigh of relief. It looks like a Corvette. I still need to see it without any cladding and camo but my hopes are high. Yet some people see the same pics and are disappointed the C8.R didn't translate directly to the street. It's almost as if design is subjective.

Drifting
Other than the vinyl wrap(that doesn't mess up air flow around the car) there doesn't appear that any padding is messing up what the car will look like.
For the people that constantly use the excuse that GM isn't interested in using the Ring as the reason the C7 has never posted a Ring time(but only local USA short tracks), here is proof that GM is interested in using the Ring.
I can faintly see the outline of the door and it sure appears that the entire opening of the side scoop is on the door.

Not liking the rear wing/facia/3rd light design............Think it might work better once we see the actual lines in a light color to make them stand out.

What you are referring to is definitely the racing version for Le Mans series built by Pratt and Miller, the C8R. Compare with the C7R.

Burning Brakes
That's where I'm at. $150k plus. Make it destroy all. AWD. 700 plus HP. 3500-3600lbs. I'll turn it into a 1200 hp street beast. Wishful thinking I know. But, it's fun to watch what happens.
