A shorter car is going to be lighter than a longer car, benefiting power to weight. The car will be more agile with an increased ability to change direction over a longer car. The car might be less stable directionally than a longer car, making it more of a challenge to drive, or requiring more artificial handling stability. But I'm not sure how you can tell for sure with nothing in the picture that gives any scale.

I was hoping for a return to a more curvaceous design a la the C5 and the Corvette Indy prototypes. I don't dislike the car... I like it a lot, but was hoping for a stark departure in styling to the C7 and I love my C7. I guess my issue is the car looks like the C7 they wanted to design before the GM BK... they wanted to go ME for the 7, but couldn't when the budget got cut. Put another way, it looks like a mid-engine C7 to me. Maybe my opinion will change once we see the car in the flesh and can see all the real lines. I will say the return to two "side openings" up front is C3/4/5 vs. the "mouth" of the C6/7. That's nice.

Pininfarina also helped design the Cadillac Allante - (regardless if you like that car or not) there is no reason why they can be brought in to help make the new Vette look more...sexy. Sorry but that rear end looks like a (slightly) modded Camaro...

Other than the vinyl wrap(that doesn't mess up air flow around the car) there doesn't appear that any padding is messing up what the car will look like.
For the people that constantly use the excuse that GM isn't interested in using the Ring as the reason the C7 has never posted a Ring time(but only local USA short tracks), here is proof that GM is interested in using the Ring.
I can faintly see the outline of the door and it sure appears that the entire opening of the side scoop is on the door.
I have a feeling this part is fake. Somehow I can't see a body part like that on the door.
