I was so hyped but now I am disappoint. The front is good but the car is ruined by the Camaro rear, and the ugly spoiler hammers home that this is a low budget performance car.

I sure hope that spoiler is an option, not standard. I think it sucks.

The no spoiler look is better on mid engine cars almost all of the time.

Otherwise, I think the car is very sexy, front and back. Me love it loooong time.

But, if I were to be picky, I really would have liked to see a more exotic rear end and have the tail lights return to the round shape that combines the elements of the dual round lights on the F430 with the aesthetics of the 488. I love the design of the C7 taillights and the C8, I just think they shoehorned themselves into a Chevy brand ID with the taillights that could easily be dismissed with the Corvette as the exception. I think the C8 rear looks great, but I also think they didn't think far enough outside the box.

Default Full picture in my mind...

To be frank, most people have a real hard time seeing past all of the fluff and can't create the full picture in their mind unless they are actually looking at the full and complete thing. Most people's brains just don't work that way.
I had no trouble creating a Cinemascope Picture in my mind when I saw the C8.R. So far, with the C8 I'm seeing a bad cartoon.

I just hope the rear end is just some sort of joke for now. TALKING ABOUT UGLY!!!! Only proves GM is not listening to their customers. Quite frankly, of this is what we have been waiting for.. what a letdown. i am not impressed.

I am with those who feel that the final shape of the side scoop is still covered. I thought when I saw the C8.R that it looked a bit thrown together like there was some additional paneling under the camo, and these pictures look even more suspicious to me.

I hope everyone hates it. Bigger discounts for me.

I am far more concerned about its performance than how it looks. That makes me the bottom 1 percent of Corvette owners.

A link to Motorauthority site with a few on track (Nurburgring) pictures I've not seen yet. I didn't take time to view the video because it looked to be from another time and place and likely posted here previously. The article has a few points that will likely spur debate...

Two things ::: Zerv said car was larger - about the size of an Aventador- I say it is similar to a 488- just perfect.
Plus ::: I see lots of curves :::: I love it.

As an owner of early VIN C4,C5, C6, & C7's I will likely go for a C8 as well. I am not overwhelmed by the pics so far and not only because of the camo. It seems to me that the ME cars all have the same basic look out of necessity, just like the current SUV craze. The ME C8 will not be as unique as a restyled FE car might have been. I guess we'll know when actually revealed, but I would describe it as a "variation on a theme".

Right now my biggest beef would be the rear end looking so large and blocky. Hopefully that's just a good camo job.

I will reserve final judgement, but first impressions are wtf is up with the rear? It looks like a camaro..the whole car is really long and generic looking. I want to love it...I'll stay hopeful.

This ME Vette is the absolute car!! Wow. Idle sound weird, a bit like a gt350 at 2min15 in the track video.

Looking closely at the front-on pictures, I am convinced that the side intake has a false panel on it to hide the final shape. That panel is simply way too thin and flimsy to be a production item. Additionally you can see a ridge under the camo just above the opening that I believe is the top part of the false panel stuck onto the rear fender. I've not explained this very well and do not possess the Photoshop skills to highlight what I mean, but take a copy of the front side view and enlarge the area around the side intake and you will see what I mean. I think that the first part of the top of the intake is the true panel as it is much "thicker" showing a curve under to strengthen the panel, but as soon as it turns down to the near vertical part of the opening there is no width to the panel and obvious turn under or support for an inner panel. Lastly, in a couple of the pictures you can clearly see the "real" line of the panel disappear under the fake panel.

Hopefully you see what I am talking about and someone with greater skills can highlight that area.
