The Corvette Blogger sept 3 pics from the Nurburgring of the C8 in just the black/white camo were so disappointing, especially the new C8 beehind.
I don't like Fords, never owned one, but I'm not so biased that I can't admit the Fort GT, in any version, 1966, 2005 or 2018, is a much more breathtakingly beautiful design.
For the C8 GM design just chopped the C7, and all it's beauty went to heaven. Leaving a helluva mess here on Earth.

These renders are lacking the body line that looks to start at the lower front of the door and creases the door to about the middle center of the door then back into the scoop. Almost like a triangle.
Actually, from the front it's not shaped like a triangle it sort of just fades into the scoop.

The same way a Corvette always does--by smoking it around a track. Or in some cases losing to it by a hair but at 1/4 the price. By letting the average American, who isn't living in a 400K house, save up for a Corvette and be driving something that is in the same performance ballpark as a high-end Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo, or McLaren. Yes, the exotics are going to win. Barely and at 2x, 3x, 4x the cost.

I doubt it. The spy shots at the Ring clearly show the radiators behind the two outside air openings. There is no need for air flow in the center, that's the trunk behind the front fascia.

Above a certain threshold, most of that exotic cost is coming from the design elements, some higher quality materials, and “hand-crafted” build. As a large company, GM presumably has the ability to lower some of the Vette development costs by sharing them with the larger organization (eg, the cost of carbon fiber and metals, new engine design).
Just knowing the engine is a version of the F150’s, I assume Ford could make a huge margin on the $400k+ Ford GT unless they are spending on crazy R&D and marketing for it. Carbon fiber only costs so much to outsource and how much do flying buttresses cost?! Lambo less so if it doesn’t share parts and factory line with the rest of Vw.

This and the FVS renders do look better on the screen, but I could still live with the pointed nose render if the performance, etc is there. I guess they are trying for a C3 nose?
I used to drive Lexus SUVs, until Toyota went to the UGLY side of design they currently use. When I see a Lexus I think Darth Vadar.
But, my Corvette loyalty and probable price difference from other ME sports cars would keep me in the vette.

Those both look like cartoon cars from Speed Racer. Not sure what I'm supposed to be excited about as they aren't even realistic looking.

Reinforces my decision to purchase another new C7 convertible with a manual transmission was a good idea. I was worried that the mid engine car would not be to my liking, unfortunately I was right. Unless Chevrolette design comes up with a better looking car, I will not purchase another Corvette.

Confirmation bias abounds. I'll take my C8 in yellow with a convertible top.

I agree...the front end on this render is my favorite. Although carrying functional design elements from ZR1 front fascia they have been subtly sculpted to blend design with function while maintaining Corvette DNA. This render is closer to what I expected and may be closer to what we eventually see once complete, however I'm not holding my breath. I'm keeping an open mind and following development and spy pics/videos with enthusiasm.

Your work? Very nice looking though it probably misses a lot of details we'll see (for good or bad). My question here relates to a "challenge" I raised on another topic thread in here. At least now we know what you like, and it is pretty sweet even if my money says it's not that close...
