Definitely a dual clutch auto but I hear no evidence of turbo spool or supercharger whine.

What I don't understand is the negative camber gain in droop at the rear. Watch 0.35 and 0.55 inside wheel in roll. Since the C5, the Corvette engineers have seen fit to have this as part of the loci in the geometry. The chassis is still very compliant which I approve of and the new chassis is stronger, lighter and cheaper than previous Corvette chassis. You can read elsewhere in this forum where me and others have described design, construction and materials employed. It really sets Corvette apart and in the Corvette tradiition, will match ans surpass it's supercar competition. I've revised the geometry in the rear suspension in my C6. I have pos camber gain in droop and roll understeer simply by placing my own upper control arm in the optimum location which gives me a 15% lateral gain on inside tire's friction circle. The only reason I can think of why Corvette does this is in a situation you find @2.56 on exit from the Karussell which is almost the same as a turn over rail road tracks or huge pot holes. Listen for the chirp after the cars load is restored. With a positive gain in droop, the car will be upset directionaly. Since city driving is what most Vettes will be subjected to this condition is satisfactory but not for me. There is no current sports car with this geometry.

Sounds ok but quiet. Nothing special IMO. The whole package seems bland and uninspired to me but it's too early to come to any conclusions.

I agree, but am assuming it's a base car that probably has less than 500 hp and and may have the exhaust toned down to comply with track noise requirements. A 700 hp twin turbo at full song will not sound uninspiring

When anyone thinks this car is underwhelming, think Z06...ZR1...

Can't tell if it is a DCT or not.

If your going off shift speed that is not an indication. Went from a '14 S4 with a DCT to a '18 S4 with a TC 8 speed. I didn't want the 8 speed but after having it for 4 months it is 95 percent what the DCT was. It is a bit slow to down shift back into 1st in corners but other than that upshift speeds are identical and sound just like the car in the video.

It is yet to be seen if GM can do as good of a job with their 8 or 10 speed as Audi has done with the ZF box but I don't miss the DCT at all.

After going BMW auto to Audi DSG back to BMW auto on my wife's car. The BMW has the superior trans by far. No even a question.

The sound is nothing to write home about. What kind of exhaust system is this? You would think they could get this right on a mid engine car. You have short pipes, so drone is easier to control. I would characterize this as "the band is suppose to be playing, but only the bass player showed up".

It also seems like the engine has a really low red line.

Compare this to the ZR1.

There is no comparison. That's what a V8 should sound like. They need to go back to the drawing board with the C8 exhaust. That system sucks.

It has the characteristic thump/fart whatever you want to call it on every up-shift at power. My piddly 315 HP Boxster, with PDK, has the exact same sound.

There not supposed to be compared ,
They serve 2 different purposes and 2 different clients.

They’re also built in completely different volumes to accommodate their respective demande in their respective segment.

They’re both beef Michael ,
but one is closer to a gourmet hamburger(mid engine)
and the other is actually a dry aged rib steak(ZR1)

So back to the subject of the exhaust note...
That tells us that the majority of the mid engine C8 client base actually prefers that sound, and that’s what thery’re Going to get.

Not only is it quiet but the tips look small. Still hoping for the best though when we see the entire package.

I was negative on the C7 for a while after it launched and now have one in the garage. Trying to keep an open mind but really unimpressed so far.

Until we hear that car launch from idle, and redline through 4 gears, I don't think we can really place proper judgment on the exhaust note.

I hope it has a little more refined tone than a raw, rapacious growl, but not depart too far away. The GT350 Mustang for example sounds like a perfect combo of old-school muscle growl and high-revving exotic cars. Sounds amazing in person. If we could get the next gen LT's to shift a little in that direction that would be amazing for the sound and also fit the car better IMO. If it sounds like a Porsche, I'll be pissed!! Hahaha.

I'm a big proponent of refinement and innovation, even if it means laying to rest tradition as long as the spirit stays true.

Default V6 Duel Turbo

I hate to disagree but that sounds like a duel turbo V6. From what I have been told by my dealer the base model C8 will come with a 550 HP duel turbo V6. I am sure this reply will get bashed but I have bought 4 Vettes from this dealer over the past years and there information has been spot on 90% of the time.
