Even Ferrari are switching to a turbo v6, so i think it´s fairly likely we will see a turbo v6 version of the Corvette.

I love my big bad LT1 motor, sounds like a freight train coming and runs like one too.
These tiny new engines crack me up. So European and not American muscle.
Those days are over with these new mini motors. They might be powerful but they aren't American muscle.
It's a new day and very soon they'll all be gone. So sad.

A turbo six in a C8 would be an absolute travesty. Listen to a late model Carrera/S with its now down sized 3.0 liter pancake motor and pip squeak turbos go up the street. Sounds like the housewife next door in her Camry on route to the Super Market. This is not what most of us want.

Not going to re-hash what has probably been brought up on this forum at least 10 times, but just because it has a V8 doesn't make it a muscle car. It's a sports car, and anyone thinking otherwise should just be banned from the forum, because they shouldn't be here.

I do it to emphasize the difference from some who are just resigning themselves to the fact that EVs are the inevitable future!
Just watched the News and all the Dems running for President in 2020 are endorsing the Green Initative, which says no fossil fules by 2030! Just saw a Forum post where the Governor of OH is proposing a $0.20 to $0.30/gallon gas tax to pay for fixing their roads with numerous potholes. Those with EV's not only won't have to pay that, they get a $7000 Federal subsity for buying them! Will they pay for the massive investment the electric untilites will have to spend to supply the power? No, it will be shared by all with higher rates. Depends on who wins in 2020 but to pay for all of the costs and to promote EV's and push ICE's out would not be surprised that $10/gallon gasoline prices (like Europe) will be one of the proposed solutions!
Yep the 502 cid (small compared to the 572 cid crate motor you can still buy from Chevy!) is what I have in my street rod. However I get flak from some when I promote more efficient ICE systems as the alternative to EVs! But I won't give up!

A sports car which is not a muscle car would be something like an MG or a Miata.

The main problem with increases like this is that some of it always gets siphoned off to other projects.
In Michigan's case, the claim is that all the tax increase would go to road funding. That sounds good, right? But that doesn't give the whole picture. The proposal also allows current road funding from other sources to be reduced, and diverted to other things.
Pretty sneaky! Ya just can't trust those darned politicians!

Excellent post and so true. All this pint size engine BS from the environmentally crazed Euro Socialist regimes is really ruining what has been grand. Carbon score indeed. Just another expansion of governmental control of private industry under the disguise of some flawed agenda.

Love the small block that has been in my 5 Vettes and can’t beat the sound of the 502 cid BB with long tube headers, straight thru Borla’s in my Street Rod. That “sucking sound” though the 5 inch high, 14 inch diameter K&N is almost as loud at WOT. BUT for my C8 want a modern engine like the 3.5 Liter 647 hp one in the Ford GT!

Not only is it more powerful than the Ford GT, but gets better fuel economy too. So which engine is really more advanced?

Sebring 12 hour IMSA race you say? Wowee! I'll bet the 0.001% of the population who care are really taking notice of that one.
