if anything, its some sporty variant of the trailblazer or something, it is the GM proving grounds after all... inclusive to ALL GM vehicles
I say trailblazer resurrection, or trailblazer coupe, or even more likely, a Cadillac crossover...

If GM creates a 'Corvette' brand I would expect a fast four door family focused car of some sort to be in the lineup. Of course that is a big if to start that sentence.

The only way that that SUV gets the Corvette name is if Corvette separates completely from Chevy. Chevy has 6 SUVs with more on the way, and they don't need this thing. There are many complications to making Corvette its own brand, the greatest being that it would need its own dealership or joint dealership chain with Cadillac, and Cadillac just had a ton of dealers shut down. However, an SUV would make a lot of money to support the Corvette sports cars and supercars.
I think that the car in the spy shot is a Chevy or GMC, possibly both. Cadillac already has an XT4, XT5, and the XT6 has been previously spotted. That thing is too big to be an XT3, to small to be an XT7, and there's no "coupe" SUV in Cadillac's gameplan. Adding a Trailblazer back to Chevy's lineup, on the next Colorado platform, would complete their set of gasoline-powered SUVs, and provide a Bronco competitor. GMC would get a sister car to that, with a different exterior and more luxurious interior.

So what? Most all of the sports-car brands are doing it, and none of us has to buy one.
If crossed-flags SUV's somehow allow a bit of cost spreading (so that powertrain development, and some more upscale trimwork, switchgear, materials sourcing and specification etc. can be shared -- BUT NOT WITH "BASIC" GM VEHICLES) that would have to be a good thing, no?
Personally, I am swayed by the argument saying it will not happen because it is more likely to cannibalize other GM SUV lines, but, who knows? As I have argued in many other posts in the C8 section, GM may make mistakes; but not for lack of carefully analyzed market and cost studies based on WAY more data than any of us have...

I wouldn't be at all surprised either. Around 1990 I was invited to a GM focus group and the focus was?? Feasibility of a four door Corvette and what current owners would expect it to be like. So GM has been courting this multi Corvette idea for decades now just as they did with the mid engine car.

GM needs a kick-*** SUV...a Crossover, not so much.
I don't really see Corvette as a brand right now.
The timing would be wrong.
Everyone is dropping their car lines (because of poor sales) for SUVs, Crossovers, little EVs, and Pickups.

The porsche macan, the jaguar I pace, the lamborghini urus all make the case for a sports car cuv although no need for that sloping rear roofline.
if gm offered a corvette version of a LT1or electric cuv like either the lamborghini urus (ice) or ev like the I pace..id easily drop $80 large for my better half to own one...
this isnt going to happen though as GM thinks mistakenly that the trailblazer SS brand is strong enough and is sufficient.

The image is so low res it could be a UFO.
Well, I feel confident it's not the C8
If anything, disagree with whoever said this can't be an early next gen Caddy. call it XT7b if not XT7.

We seem to be forgetting that all of these sports car brands that have introduced crossover SUVs into their lineups did so because they were unrepresented in this currently lucrative market segment. This is not the case for Chevrolet - they have MORE than enough of these vehicles, and adding another one to the mix at this point would not be a wise business plan. I don't see it happening.

I DONT have faith that GM can manage another brand. They failed miserably with Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Saturn, Hummer, etc. Buick and Cadillac are doing miserably in sales and Chevrolet is marginally better. Adding a Corvette brand will irreparably damage Corvette the way GM is going. I for one would not buy anything but a Corvette sports car. Screw a Corvette sedan or SUV.

Resurrection of the Blazer. Corvette is not a make but a model so don't expect a Corvette SUV/Crossover. Porsche, Lambo, Maserati are makes with SUV models. If Corvette was a stand alone make, I might be inclined to believe the possibility otherwise it's just another model in Chevrolet's line up.

A high performance Corvette SUV will do nothing to sell Corvettes. A high performance Cadillac SUV will help the Cadillac image. It is also a gap in the Cadillac portfolio.

5 years ago..id agree w you 100%... though with the lambo, Range Rover, tomahawk.. etc..., and other high end crossovers... not so sure now... I could actually imagine it... what better way to come in hot... the pitch could be really strong... the noise in the market would be huge.. and branding it corvette would work very well.. the crossover market is big.. and for high end buyers... they could fit the garage with matching white, black whatever. corvettes... (dont underestimate this) high end buyers think just like that... double corvettes....200k out the door for both.. the pitch is strong.

if you would entertain the question which nameplate has a greater positive public perception ...chevrolet or the corvette..
acknowldging that corvette has greater favorables then the idea of a hot rod four door porsche macan competitor named corvette xcross (or whatever) would be a smart play by GM.
instead GM showed us a very cool blazer SS last month.
it was pretty hot looking ..
i wont buy it becaise the better half wont own a bowtie prodict. She is a badge snob. If their was a corvette hotrod crossover for under 80 grand i would be able to convince her to get one...the blazer ss she wouldnt do...she doesnt know anything about cars. She is just a traditional surburban wife that is not out of the norm.
Corvette branded i could buy her. A cadillac yes. Audi, bmw ,mercedes, lexus, acura, alfa romeo, maserati, jaguar, infiniti, GMC maybe a buick...but chevrolet is off the table for her and her friends...same with toyota, nissan, but she would surprisingly go for a mazda maybe..
corvette crosstek would expand the chevrolet brand consumer base...
instead the old boys and girls in detroit think Nlazer SS can swing it...and im not sure it can....chevrolet is still surpringly and unwarranted as a damaged brand (image)
