Evidence of model year 2020?
I'll be the first to admit, this is flimsy. But I'm somewhat optimistic about it.
Since the first photos came out, I've been wondering about some of the labels we see on the test cars. They clearly mean something but what? Most of them were too blurry to read anyway. Then I saw a photo of a 2019 Camaro, with a clear label, and got an idea.
The Camaro was 1KAN2234. So I checked the VIN cards to see if any of the digits matched up with what we know about the Camaro now that it's public.
1 is the VIN digit for GM US market cars.
K is the VIN digit for 2019
A isn't a VIN digit. But the Camaro is on the Alpha platform. Hmm.
N...no idea.
The digits could be specific to that individual car. Build sequence number, date code, who knows?
So that brings us to the ME car. Look at the yellow label on the back.
1LYN????
US market, 2020 model year, Y platform.
The Nurburgring cars have these labels on the lower corner of the windshield.
Next time one of the spy photographers gets up close and personal with one of these things at a gas station, hopefully they take a second to snap these labels.

How did you even see that on the yellow label? That’s incredible... Good Job!

Perhaps they are using some kind of partial VIN on the stickers though to identify each car.
First digit, 1 indicates country of manufacture - US.
Although "L" is correct for MY 2020 it will always appear in the 10th position.
