As the article says, this may just be a branding exercise for Cadillac or Buick. Or it could be nothing at all. But the timing is certainly interesting.

It's only a marketing term and my guess is they would use it to differentiate the Camaro's AWD transaxle from those used by Buick and Cadillac.
I've gotta say, given how awesome the 6th gen Camaro's chassis tuning is, I would be VERY tempted to dump my Corvette for an AWD Camaro I can drive year round. I find it annoying to have a great car in the summer but then be stuck in an average car for 6 months of the year.

Since Corvette seems to be on a "Ray" kick with Stingray, and Manta Ray, it would likely be called "All Wheel Ray".

Is that what Buick calls it? "Sport Control AWD?" I don't think so.

I believe Chevy would be surprised at how many more Camaros they would sell if they could be a winter daily driver. I'd love to have an AWD Camaro for winter driving while my Corvette is garaged. Either the V6 or, if I modded it, then the I4. It would be a no-brainer if they could do an LT1 AWD Camaro.

Its going to be a supplemental momentary electric motor system run off capacitors or a single battery you could look at it as motorized traction control. It wont be in any way a long usage AWD type system

Future electric motors on the front end of the c8 high performance models is possible and easy to due as electrification is becoming more and more mainstream by 2021..
