the first side shot

the distance from the door/scoop,to the wheel opening looks hideous

I think its too flat, and I think its too wide

even a Ferrari testarossa looks leaner

but thanks for trying,it will be interesting to see the real thing ,soon I hope

Forget the explanations about fisheye lenses. Or camo. Or the lean and mean renders...

The real thing thus far looks like this:

Good looking sketches...very sharp although the idea that the side scoop flows to the door is a good question

That side scoop piece on the door looks so fake to me.

It has a faux panel affixed to it, as can be seen in this camo shot. The real part is molded into the door while the fake part is the thin circled part:

I think the intake looks like this. Within that circle is the beginning of the intake like the yellow line in my picture.

Great sketching, but wow if that's what the C8 is gonna look like, major disappointment. Looks like its trying to look like many other hyper exotics. A dated design already.

Again assuming IF that's what it will look like, it'll no longer be a car that is instantaneously identifiable as a "Corvette". That aspect of the legacy is gone. Shame.

I believe the intake will be closer to the rear wheel opening, forget about the bogus crap taped on the door

How long would that flimsy slip of sheetmetal last on a daily driver C8? There is no way in hell such a design would go into production.

It's SMC. And I agree...looking at that piece makes me shudder in a thousand ways.

Oh yeah, d'OH!

Actually my bet is on it being a 3D printed part for the camo. Whatever it's made out of, it's camo for sure.

I bet GM designers are still trying to design a good looking side scoop for all the reasons mentioned. So they glued on camo stuff to have a version just to get it out on the road.

My question is why are we even seeing the car this naked. This is unlike any other Corvette reveal we've seen before. It's always been heavily clad, even with evolutionary changes rather than a change this big. It's not like CFD and wind tunnels have gotten worse.
