You don't quite understand the definition of a lie. A lie requires intent, meaning you have to knowingly make a false statement. What you describe above does not equate to a lie, it equates to information that simply turned out to be not true. If he believed it when he heard it, not a lie.

2020 C6 of the Year Winner - Modified
what still shocks me in 2019 is.. why doesent GM make electronics agreement w apple... and place iPad(s) of different sizes in models.. running software to adjust everything from a large screen? completely updatable software, have that screen control all hvac, launch, everything...
There is honestly zero need for all this advanced technology in cars. Blind spot detection - how bout just positioning your mirrors correctly. Automatic parking assist - how bout you just learn how to parallel park? You’d think I was 80 yrs old but I’m not. It drives up the cost of cars, more stuff to break & drives up cost of repairs while most of the tech is completely unnecessary.

well.. Zerv did provide the diagram of the dash... and no matter what anyone says....it was not a "guess" ... it was close enough to the leaked pic ... he knows someone/something for SURE>
Please also consider... the definitive connection here... 1) Zerv leaked diagram of dash. 2) Actual photo of dash leaked....
other than pics of mules on the street... that's the leaked pics...DASH..... question is... WHY and HOW would he know to leak a diagram of the dash..then the leaked pic of a dash comes out..
Its prolly not a coincidence.

Had a ‘18 Durango GT for a week over the winter and while it had a lot of nice features (heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, Apple CarPlay etc, they were all controlled on the screen which was a huge pain in the ***. Had to go through multiple screens to hit different things then back through multiple screens to get back to where you started. It was a complete production to turn the heated seat down from high to low. Heaven forbid you try to switch anything while the vehicle is in motion.

Oh dear God what have GM done? It's an ergonomic nightmare!
I so so hate it when GM's interior designers try to get "stylish" on instruments and controls that should be purely functional. It's the same with the abominable interior of my ATS, in which they used haptic touch controls in an attempt to make a pretty design on the dashboard. Really, like WTF is this?
Looks like we can expect similar imbecility on the C8 dash.
Damn does this steam me up. I was really enthused about the C8 but if every drive will be a battle of the buttons then I may have to stick with Porsche.

Here's what I believe took place...Zerv02 has a friend who works for GM. This friend was able to get Zerv02 a seat in one of the pre-production vehicles and then told Zerv02 that the reveal was going to take place at the NAIAS and that the car was going to MSRP for $169,900. Anyway, Zerv02 believed his source was correct, and his source probably thought he was correct too at the time. Zerv02 got a couple of things right on his interior sketch because he saw the interior, but he missed the boat on the NAIAS information. I also believe he'll be proven wrong again when GM gives us the pricing. Chalk it up to someone's first rodeo with what he hoped was privileged information. Hopefully he learns something from all of this and becomes a better forum contributor as a result.

His pricing pronouncement was just flat silly, everyone knew it (except him).
His release pronouncement was just as silly. The 2nd biggest reveal in Corvette history and GM decides to go stealth?
Anyone with any knowledge of Corvette and it's history KNEW he was flat wrong on both counts.

My guess is Zerv02 got a peek at one of the captured test fleet C8s, but only saw the steering wheel and lower center console. Maybe the driver had to run into a gas station for a dump, or maybe he knew the driver and had it described to him.
He did get a LOT wrong, like the infotainment screen not being free standing.
In any event, he amused himself by toying with random anonymous internet forum posters, though few of us believed any of his nonsense.
He'll be back under a new alias with more reveals. Repeat ad nauseam.

Just a quick note on terminology, captured test fleet (CTF) cars are not on the road yet. CTF cars are assigned to GM company car drivers after the car goes public. The program is designed to get a lot of cars in on the road to get feedback from a broader population prior to the car going on sale. CTF cars are driven out in the open, there is no need to hide anything.
The cars which are being tested now are controlled by the Corvette team for specific testing. Access should be rather restricted but the numbers of people who have seen one or more at this point would be rather large. The Corvette team, engineering support from internal GM groups, suppliers and plant people have all seen the car.
When I was working in the industry, I saw a lot of prototype and pre production vehicles. I never shared what I knew with anyone. The information was confidential to the OEM and I respected that confidentiality. Personally, I find it kind of refreshing so little C8 information has leaked to date.

Boiler_81, thanks for the helpful terminology info. Rumor has it that some CTFs have been built by the plant. There were some CTF ZR1s that we saw first with camo and then with the camo removed after the reveal. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think some CTFs may first be around with camo?

CTF vehicles are sell able units. I'm sure what has been produced to date are not sell able.

Absolutely correct regarding the captured test fleet. No CTF C8 are out yet. And as for Zerv02 having a "friend" that let him sit in a proto ME? Didn't happened. All proto vehicles are highly monitored and only authorized access to them permitted. I'm guessing most of the prototypes have anywhere from 2 or more GM employees around them at any given time so the chances of a friend "sneaking" him in to look at it just doesn't fit. Not sure where he might have gotten his info from if it's legit but I can guarantee you the "leakers" are no longer working for GM or a supplier. GM Security is VERY good at what they do!
