Glass engine lid

Been definite discussions about being able to see the motor in the removable couple version, but unlikely if not impossible to see it for the HT convertible version.

From the rear hatch shown in the Ring gas station pics... the rear “glass” seems fairly small for a glorious viewing port but anything is possible.
My my guess is that he set up is similar to the 720 we are the engine is mounted very low and forward making viewing impossible or impractical... but, this would open up the possibilities for a rear deck shelf compartment above the engine.
The rear hatch is huge very similar to the C7 and opens wide. I believe a movable interior storage shelf would make a lot of sense.

I think for this car, being the future of Corvette, the rear glass should be made out of transparent aluminum.
A real thing now by the way… ( although not practical for this application ). ; )

It's a high strength alumino-ceramic crystal. Very cool stuff.

Yes it is. I think it will be a little while before they start making sheets big enough for automotive use But it’s coming…
everything in Star Trek is coming to pass. Transporter technology, transparent aluminum, warp drive, I’m just waiting for the Dancing Women from Orion !

I don't want to see the engine unless it's OHV. Must have leaf springs and wooden floor boards also. Oh yes, radio delete, sliding side windows and a cable door handle. No leather with cloth seats. You know, just like an F40.

although pricey the cell phone gorilla glass is much thinner and lighter and would be a good choice for the rear glass which looks pretty flat.

Why would you want to see the plastic engine cover through the rear hatch window? Now if it could be 4 Twin Webers like those on one of the original Zora Grand Sports, perhaps.
Engines just don't look the same today all having a plastic cover. My neighbor just bought his wife a new power blue Bentley vert for their anniversary! He popped the hood to so show me the twin turbo 6 liter W 12! Looked like the Vette, big plastic cover over most!
Now perhaps the aftermarket can supply engine covers (that I assume will be sealed from the interior) that has a pic of a 4 Twin Weber engine or an old Ferrari engine with red crinkle paint valve covers etc.
Through that tinted rear window would be hard to see clearly but would have folks guessing!

Today they cover everything up with plastic covers so there's no need. McLaren now doesn't even let you look at the engine anymore in some cars. Its under a shelf.
Ferrari spends a lot of time designing the engine bay and custom making everything to look correct. Others just cover up the ugly wires, tubes, etc. The Ferrari 458 was the last good looking engine under glass. The 488 not so much because of all the Turbo stuff.

Is it possible that there will be a solid partition behind the passengers all the way to the roof separating the passengers from the engine compartment and then have a rear camera mounted on the rear of the roof instead of a rear view mirror with the monitor mounted on the center console.? In doing so, the rear hatch could have glass to expose the engine.
