The side scoops are a big improvement. I still don’t like how pointy the nose is, or all the creases in the hood. The Motortrend render is much nicer in that area IMO.

My hood interpretation won't please everyone, and, for that matter, neither will Chevy's.

I like it.
What’s not to like? That hood looks great! And its shape could easily accept the given OEM stripes that are sure to be options. But let me focus on this latest scoop solution. Where you place the upper and lower rear facia area connecting seam makes sense. The lower rocker panel section could include the inside surface of the scoop thus being able to go a long back into the opening before coming to a probable screen.

I think Chaz has been trying to stay true to the shapes he sees under the camo rather than make it something it's not. I'm not inlove with the shape but if it's what GM is building then I'd rather see that than something that may never be.
How will this design incorporate the rear brake ducts that are sure to be incorporated with this scoop? Or do you suppose that will be reserved for the Z06 model only and that's why we see it on the race car?
Most often a primary side scoop on a ME has multiple functions — for once “inside,” they are often divided into different chambers, e..g, rear brake cooling, engine compartment cooling, heat exchangers, sometimes even engine air intake.
Also, since this was a clean sheet design, possible GM is rounding air from underneath the car, right before the rear wheels to cool the rear brakes.
Or since previous generations have not had a rear brake intake for the entry model, that we will not see a separate scoop for that purpose until the Z06+ versions arrive — including the related C8.R as is pictured above.
While Chaz has done some nice work here, my reaction to the latest render is, as it’s been for a while, that there is no way a GM production car will have door edge with a sharp corner on the “flying buttress” scoop. I see it breaking off, maiming peds, giving near-crippling charley-horses to passengers waiting for the driver to open the door, and badly impaling adjacent cars sheet metal. Not gonna happen.
It’s flying buttress is a diversion, the real scoop starts rear of the door or is a different shape, hidden under the fake quarter...

I believe this also.
Everyone is saying that there is no other place for a way to open the door except to have an overhang with a button. What about a pad for fingerprint recognition. Remember, the car will have a whole new digital/electrical control system that could do that. Heck, my phone opens that way, so why not a fingerprint activated car door opening mechanism to act in the same way.
