I can envision there being no black trim piece at the edge of the scoop opening. Simple can sometimes look better. But, if there is, as you strongly suggested in your latest rendition, when has Corvette or GM ever done something like this so plain. They probably would dress it up, maybe mirroring what is on the C7 front fender in some way. Even something similar to the C7 GS except substituting “Grand Sport” with “Zora”.

Looks good so far...Just remember, the carbon fiber piece on the scoop opening will act as the "door handle pull" if opening outward. Are we 100% certain the doors wont open upward?

Great work Chazcron! Love your “last night’s effort!” As always, when I see your latest version, I can’t wait for your next one.
Thank you so much for helping us all learn more about the car as you work evolves!!!

I don't think the edge lip will be a door "pull". There will be electronic release buttons under the lip IMO.

Not my best
It got late. *shrugs* I'm struggling with my shader. I can't get nice white highlights running down the character lines. No time to fake in the door panel lines, either.

Okay, here goes.....
1) Without question your design software talents far exceed anything I can now do. Thanks.
2) Overall, that overly wide black trim makes the side view look even more heavily biased to the rear end and makes the ME look even more unbalanced. It should be at least much thinner, about 1/4”-1/2”.
3) You correctly have the rear edge of the black trim flush as it ends transitioning onto the painted rear fender panel. Thus no body painted edge exposed to whatever passes by.
4) I visualize, as I said before, there will be a similar black or even optioned body colored cove piece somehow using what I pictured below. Body color would be iffy as noted in 3 above.
5) BUT, it will be inset such as to not be readily visible from the perspective of looking directly from a 90 deg side view and will be seen looking down the side. A screen is probable and should be black too.
6) The tough part I can’t quite figure out is how it transitions from the rear fender across the opening onto the door. We know where the door opening pad is located so how does my suggested solution deal with that? Does it end just prior to the crossover to the door? Or......?

Melting Slicks
I strongly disagree with your #2 assessment statement. The black trim piece on the side scoop adds some MUCH needed visual dissecting of the profile. This now solves the oblong, cab forward appearance of the greenhouse. This is what Audi did to solve that problem on the R8, and it worked immensely! Doesn't need to be thinned, doesn't need to be removed. Imagine how naked, and unappealingly raw the C7 would look without the black plastic grills on it's side fender vents.
Appealingly beautiful

November Surprise
Missed Halloween by that much. Pumpkin spice anyway. Close inspection gave away many details of the rear window area. The cowling part is photoshop, and will be hell to model.

Incredible work ,
I still believe the bottom part of the scoop coming down straighter...
The reason for this is to make the front portion of the car seem longer.
Its noticeable in the McDonald’s spy pictures.
Visualize an actual dart...(not the Mopar...)Somewhat busy and bulky in the rear section, and then long from the B pillar forward(and even longer )from the rear tire to the front of the car.
Think British war plane of the 90’s.
I also expect from what I see,a little more Coke bottle effect...Again to give a « longer » visual sensation from the side profile.
Front quarter, door, and the hatch...All seem very plausible .
