Screen recording of the buttresses in progress:

I need to rework the inside edge (the last thing I cobbled together to reflect the inner angle from this view:

Do you think the outside mid-buttress cut will be mirrored on the inside? I can't make it out in the shot above, but it looks better than straight.

I really enjoyed your video. As you asked, I think the “inner” U-shaped is raised too much (a height issue), that the outside buttress shape is not mirrored on the inside. As rendered seems like too much is happening inside the outer buttresses, resulting in that area appearing to be a “busy.” The car, sorry for the pun, has to be classy, elegant and flowing.

Is it possible that the inner mini-buttresses are purely GM disguising styrofoam cladding designed to throw us off?

Separately, is it possible that the three, parallel, air ducting vents have the same curvature at the top of the rear fascia?

Thanks, E.

Everything inside the outer buttresses is just faked in Photoshop.

The orange line depicts the fake panel. The yellow is what the production car will have. Note the detail in the blue circle. The same detail will appear on all C8s. The button for the door can be placed anywhere.

ACS render over a year ago.

Check out this detail above the N. Why do you suppose he leaves it out on his renders?

Again.

The door button can be placed anywhere. Somewhere here or just inside the scoop.
This horrible black thing on top of the scoop should be removed now. He incorporated that fake thing in all his renders, Ha.

The scoop must capture the least turbulent flow. The leading edge must be perpendicular to that flow. I'm not going to say this again. Tell him.

The Coke bottle shape of the car negates that huge ugly wart on the side of the car. Corvette would never do such a thing.

Correct

Same.

Do you think his 'Rationale' for his front bumper renders are correct? Artists and designers minds simply don't meet.

There are 4 different front ends I've seen.

500 hp grille

800 hp grille

I hope this helps him.

These type of tail lights are what the c7 should have had imo

I might add that if you look at Chaz's track record, I wouldn't bet against him. Whether mustang or 6th gen Camaro, he made the camo people look silly and irrelevant. Thanks for all you do Chaz!

Chaz, your video interpretation of the HT looks good along with the front opening hatch. But IMO the hatch will not end near the rear facia as you depict at the video end because access to the suspected rear trunk would be obstructed. Thus it makes sense the rear hatch will not be as long and will have a second smaller hatch covering the trunk. This would be contrary to the ME Coupe which would open from the front like the C7 thus exposing both the engine and the truck simultaneously.

Chaz, your overall ME design looks so much better than the one above so disregard the styling of the yellow ME. And note that video makes no distinction if the HT lays flat or folds behind the cabin, which I think it does.

Two way trunk?

This could explain the extra hump on the buttress. And gives full access to the engine and trunk.

Thoughts?

On second thought, would the seals work if the drop top mechanism stayed with the rest of the trunklid when it goes up?

Maybe the drop top section slides back instead of going up?

This makes the most sense. It would always go back, even when the trunk is conventionally opened, It is probably the most mechanically simple, too. The small center part is what covers the vertical storage for the top.
