The only thing I question is the pointy-ness of the nose. In looking at the decreasing un-camo'ed cars and the C8-R my gut tells me the nose will be rounder.

It will only appear to be that pointed in wide angle pictures like these. While it is pointed, it won’t look this pointed from the side and higher in person.

Chaz, may I ask how you managed to get the top-view of the vehicle? Is there some top-down photo somewhere or did you just rough it in over time? I originally asked if your models were available as I wanted to render them in Keyshot, but I figure I'm just going to model my own version for rendering. Couldnt find any top-down reference views, though. Wasnt sure if any were out there.

A $62k Corvette is NOT a supercar folks. Neither is $100k vette. A supercar is double that price at minimum with build counts in the hundreds. Not 40 thousand. It's the quality of materials used and technology used that makes them supercars.
I'm sorry but the Corvette hasn't been and won't be a supercar. Maybe a wanna be for folks that can't afford a real supercar.
Just a dose of reality. And the C8 is one fugly mess. It's sad but it's kind of expected.

There is no widely accepted definition of supercar, so..
This same talk was floating around when the 5th gen Camaro was being released. People were calling it an exotic.

I agree, and while it’s relative....I believe the term supercar alone means it’s something extraordinary and nothing Chevrolet makes will ever achieve that level of pedigree. Corvettes would be seen as mongrels in the greater world and European market. I am not bashing Corvettes as I am a fan of them....but they don’t get much respect outside of the US. I believe their were about 700 new Corvettes sold to Europe last year....not many compared to Porsche and other top tier car sales in the US. Kind of the Rodney Dangerfield of cars!

It all boils down to numbers built. Why they build so few is open to discussion, could be the intentionally depressing production or could be there is no demand for the car or not enough qualified ($) buyers, or ?? Bottom line, it is the low production numbers that dictate the high costs.
The Corvette is a semi-mass produced car. As such it’s costs can be kept reasonable. Something that the average person can strive to obtain.

Sorry but have to disagree. It is not the quality of materials and technology used that makes them super expensive “supercars”. It is nothing more than their limited production. Yes, they may use high quality materials and high tech, but that is only a small part of their cost. Now I am defining a “supercar” as one that costs $250,000 and up. These are cars that they may build 500 or less per year. With that limited production they do not have enough units to spread their developmental cost over. They also cannot get any discounts on materials or subcontractors costs. A Chevy Cruze would be a supercar if they only produced 500 of them.
It all boils down to numbers built. Why they build so few is open to discussion, could be the intentionally depressing production or could be there is no demand for the car or not enough qualified ($) buyers, or ?? Bottom line, it is the low production numbers that dictate the high costs.

Good god. The C8 subforum on this website feels like a bunch of bickering kids in a high school lunch room.
Guys its a corvette. Its just a corvette. Who gives a **** about what some people want to call it.
There is literally no definition of supercar. This has been argued since the subforum has been created and you're all just arguing over absolutely nothing.
