These side details might be fun to look in to.

I found this article on the Aria. Turns out Aria was founded by a son of GM designer Ed Taylor (Fast Eddie), and they are tight with GM design:

A real Chevrolet-built mid-engined Corvette won’t be elusive for long, but that didn’t stop Aria from building its dream car, which we have to say is absolutely gorgeous. Nor did Chevrolet seek to stop Aria, either. “We’re great friends with the folks at GM, and they know that we are doing this,” said Aria’s other co-founder, Clive Hawkins.
It's like they're testing design motifs for the Corvette design team. Much more rounded than the C8, though.

Personally I prefer nice body lines without any black trim or finishing pieces.
Looks a lot less kit-carish this way to me.

That back end is sexy and not too, too far off from what we may see.
Not talking about the engine cover although I love that also.

Chaz, have you looked at the leaked fob. My thought is that the accents on it attempts to replicate the side intake shape.

Default Hood action

The reverse scoop is all Photoshop for now.

Here is the last one with requested lighter Corvette rims.

Great rendering skills. But that C8 looks hideous.

Chazcron is indeed skilled. But even his renders unrealistically suggest a slimmer profile than what reality so far indicates. Note the nose... "The Nose of Reality!"

I am just hoping the final product will be jaw-dropping. And a weird thing happened today as I was driving on the interstate. A car passes me and it's active rear wing was moving/flapping/whatever. Got me thinking....

Maybe the low profile fixed rear wing seen in the C8 camo is just to throw everyone off and underneath the camo is an active wing that is not wired up so the active aero wing is not spotted?

Anyways. That's what came to mind when I saw that car. I think it was an Audi but not an R8. Maybe an Audi TT?

I can't put my finger on it but for some reason, the proportions just don't look right on any of the shots of the camo C8s that I've seen. It's like the whole car looks a bit out of kilter compared to other MEs. Is it just me or are others thinking the same thing?

Most of the best detail shots are done with a standard lens. Those shots tend to "wrap" the front and back end around, giving a stubbier look. This photo is a good example of this. I look for shots done with telephoto lenses that flatten out the front and rear. Even then, there is still some "wrapping" depending on how off centered the shot is. I learned from modeling the Camaro that even though I can rotoscope/match my model with a camo shot, invariably the front end is longer than I guessed. This time around, I'm preemptively lengthened the front end. Being an all-new, cab forward, mid engined beast, the hood will look shorter anyway. Especially with 60 years of the front engined, long hood look we are used to seeing in a Corvette. Without an orthographic side and top view (like a blueprint) my model will most certainly be off, and in car design, a hit or a miss is defined by inches.

I am not a car designer, I can only guess by feeling out what seems aesthetically pleasing to me. I'm not even a professional 3D artist. (I am a professional digital artist-retoucher) This is just a hobby. I am not offended if anyone doesn't like how my renders look. I wish I had better software and 10 years of professional experience, too.

But in the end, I have learned from experience that my model, (other than guessed-at details like the scoop, the headlights and taillights) is a pretty accurate representation of the final product.

I agree. I cannot imagine GM debuting a C8 that appears (to my eye) as out of proportion and rather clunky. The C7 was a masterpiece of design (IMO) when it came out and have to believe the C8 mule is covered was extensive amounts of body pieces to hide its actual shape. With some foam and light plastic snap-ons, they can make any car look like a rolling toaster if they choose. I'm betting they have a sleek beauty under all that camo. It may not suit everyone's taste or idea of beauty, but should hit all the right notes for the majority of Corvette enthusiasts.
