Just what is the AVERAGE age of a Corvette buyer today? I believe it is 62. That is a dying market share and GM knows it. Look at Harley, exact same demographics.

Corvette can't survive, much less grow when the customers are almost exclusively baby boomers.

Thats Econ 10.
you're missing the economics of GM going to a mid engine which will bring in younger buyers in the US. you're also missing the fact that there will always be 62 year olds

Thats a great thing,
fantastic for the brand.

I explained it many times ,please except it ...
The primary market is the 65-70k market.

They cater to us first....
This primary market gets first dibs .They always have,
We are great customers, don’t complain much and we buy on impulse.

After we’re served ,they serve everyone else...

I am literally so over this C8 corvette. I am also so over discussing prices..... it’s been like 2 years and we are still arguing over the price of this thing. Just wait until they debut it!

Wait, what?
"you are posts?" What does that mean?

China is GM's market of the future. You're living in the past.

I'll tell you after you tell me what "gobal" economics are genius. Any fool can find a typo when one types too quickly

You are joking right or don't you pay attention to gobal economics?

$63K? Now that is funny. Based on this thread, I think everyone should expect a price tag north of $100K now.

I think the only way we see the car at that price point is basically no watered down version with a push-rod motor and standard brakes and tires. Just because the mules have been spotted with them does not prove the car will come with those brakes and tires for example. We don't know what engine(s) are in the mule, and really the only videos where you can really hear the car (the Ring videos), I'm not 100% sure what type of engine was in the car and it may not matter to GM, depending on what they were testing there.

The price point thrown out by the OP could only be explained if they are going to continue building a FE car, likely the C7, for a couple more years while a C8 car (FE) is developed which is evolutionary to the C7. I would not be at all surprised to see this ME not called (or referred to as) a C8, but as Z1.

That price point also will mandate a serious improvement in the quality and fit and finish, especially the interior. The C7's interior upgrade option finally moved the needle in the right direction, but more is needed, especially at the price point that's been thrown out by Zerv02.

EDIT: Note, I am not saying I buy the price point the OP threw out, or agree with it. I can see the argument both ways.
Don’t forget GM spent a lot of time testing the ME on the Nuremberg, why would they have basic brakes on their test cars? Doesn’t make sense to me.

Zerv are you part of the forum and basically a version of Click Bate throwing out crazy post to generate more talk?

Maybe they were not testing the brakes. Lots of other things to test on the car. Brakes are pretty straightforward: carbon ceramic rotors with Brembos and you're done.

Man this is now talking stupid money. Price point is extremely important for the Corvette, and when they are knocking on the door of exotic prices, it's not gonna end well.

This can't be real.

North of $100k is funny, $63k is more realistic for a base C8.

The price of poker if you want to play with the big boys. Corvette wants to be top dog. Getting there won't be cheap.

They sold like 1k of those things. We’re talking about a massed produced car that they want to sell 20k+ a year.

I say hogwash. At that price GM will sell only one thousand 'vette's, and that simply isn't GM's business model.

That is why the FE is going to be produced too. Two Corvettes -- what a concept!
