I think thats way high after looking at hows things are playing out. A base 1lt I think will be around 65k ish give or take a couple grand. This new car isnt going to be a super car by any standard except for the motor has been moved.
higher optioned models should be priced like the c7s. You need to know that Mary Barra GMs ceo doesnt like gas powered cars and is pushing hardddd to go all electric asap. So within a few years all of these cars will be going bye bye.
if you think all electric cars are cool they aint. A car that doesnt feel like its running and has no sound is just plain boring and hideous. Were living in the final days of gas powered vehicles and it really sucks ***.
muscle cars are about to be a thing of the past.
gm isnt really worried about high sales volumes on vettes trust me.
its just the sign of our times.

I feel like Zerv is pulling our legs at this point, absolutely nothing that has been released or leaked at this points to anything that would drastically increase the price of the Corvette beyond $65k to $70K.
I would write GM off if this is their plan, I loved my C7 because it was an incredible car at an affordable price, pushing it up to prices above most Porsche 911's would just make it laughably over priced because I could buy a 911 GT3 for less.

Well the NSX is right in that ballpark so it wouldn't be surprising if Zora offers more performance and GM only wants to sell a few thousand so they can go racing.
More likely the base price of the lowest end model will be half that much.

There is not a chance in hell that the entry price for a mid engine C8 is going to be $170k. Anyone that believes that is a fool. Limited edition ultra performance version, sure, not the base cars.

I haven’t posted in a really long time. Been sitting here, quietly enjoying my various corvettes, anxious to jump in and order the C8 to add to our collection. $169k seems a bit outrageous. I do love corvette, and currently have one from every generation....but if it really creeps up to a price point comparable to some (albeit slightly used) exotics....well then it’ll be really hard to stick to the brand. Surely that won’t happen.

For reference, the ugly ole c7 mule (notice headlights, similar to what is seen on c8 mules running around, production lights and finishes are a wayyyy different
Wishful thinking

Also the Ford GT is hardly a fair comparison, the buyers are expecting a return on investment in dollars not fun. The one GT making its rounds at auction houses is hilarious because as soon as people can sell their own GT's the value of this car is going to tank. Ford is also diluting the residual value of this car by making even more of them.
To try to breach into the exotic car sales realm, GM has an impossible climb. To release an affordable mid engine sports car with the chops to mix it up with exotics would be a worldwide sensation. I can't believe that a company like GM would consider alienating its historical base for something that risky.

Things have changed, and they need to evolve/follow global trends

Stop comparing these. They are NOT the same.
Well, there not meant to inspire confidence, what you see on the Nurburgring is totally different than what the final vheciale will look like.

There is no valid comparison between heavily clad C7 prototypes and C8 prototypes shod of the heavy cladding and in tight vinyl wrap.
