Very true
But if this is true, then this zora ME 150k car will not be the true C8. It will be a specialty car carrying the corvette logo. The c8 would be something different as I doubt GM would abandon a a marketplace that has served it well for over 60 years, that being a high performance car in the $60k ish / 2020 dollars.

Refreshed C7 with new front and rear fascias, interior and powertrain, likely, the Caddy CT6 TTV8 w/10A which is already in production and certified (base would be a 500 hp LT1 w/10A or manual). Lots of current options become standard and new options are added: heated steering wheel, blind spot monitor, super cruise, forward collision avoidance.

If I were their marketing guy looking at this Thread I'd be laughing and thinking any publicity is good publicity!
I'm sure at a Corporate level they are more worried what folks who buy those 550,000+ Silverado's/year think about the already announced 2.7 Liter Turbo L4 as the engine for 2019!

I just posted the price.... the special ones on here throwing hissy fits were what made it viral. (-_-)
Had a feeling it would end up going this route, hence the "let the madness ensue".
Many are still stuck in their beliefs that there will be a base model under 100k though. Get real.
Yes, the initial base model won't be 169k, this is reserved for the mid tier option released very shortly after, features 4.6TT. Even so, the base model will still reach 6 figures, features 4.2TT DOHC V8. Exact price for that one I don't know, probably starts at 105, will reach 110-115 fully loaded. Mid tier is definitely 169 though.

Well... I'm glad you uh... even reference there will be a base model since your OP left that little detail out inferring 1 price to rule them all, so to speak. I have to give you props for correcting that.... after being called out on it by several people. Still, it's good to have an "insider" such as yourself up on the curve with how car companies do esoteric and arcane practices like 'trim level' and 'options'. I for one am thankful you were here to set the record straight for the C8 one price to rule them all, oh 'insider' who brings forth C8 wisdom.
So, you are following up the $169K with a call for a Base model around $105k. I have to say, you are consistent...Still, you are the ONLY avenue this information is coming from (previous leaks typically have had 3rd party verification / cooroboration) and, other people who publicly have some sort of relationship and / or publicly known experience with GM / Chevy have said your estimate is.... "much, much higher" than what a base price would be. But hey, who the heck are they?!?! I say people with confirmed identities and publicly known track records are the shady ones. YOU, SIR... Madam....uh... it?, the anonymous Internet-based entity that you are, YOU are the beacon! The ROCK upon which GM will stand with the C8 pricing!
.
Let us all reflect on the foolishness of not believing you.

Why do you care?
If you are convinced that Zerv02 is wrong and it is foolish to believe him, why are you raging about it? Why does it matter to you?
Clearly, you do believe him and you cannot disprove what he says so you are frustrated because you want a cheap ME Corvette.

Common Sense is a slippery slope.
and to be honest, price is only the first obstacle anyway, even if its 65k, it better look awesome, and it better be semi dependable. I dont want any ferrari like maintenance nonsense.
So in the end its really just a fun debate here among corvette enthusiast. No reason to get angry or call people names etc

Le Mans Master
The Corvette Chief Engineer has stated otherwise! If it did fit the C7, it would already have it instead of the A8. All Camaro SS's now have it for 2019, because it fits the platform.

Not Correct
In this video (beginning at 2:00) at BGA, Tadge Juechter points out that the transmission of the C7 has NO structural pieces around it. It is free standing and therefore does not have space restrictions.
Of course you don't have to take Tadge's word for it. You can just look at the transmission on the car. Clearly, the A10, which GM officially says fits the "same space" as the A8, would easily fit the C7.

Whats common sense, even many of the key figures in the development of this car over the last few decades vary greatly on what they think it will cost now that its becoming reality. So either it will be the first ME performance car at 65K or so, or it will be priced more in line with its European counterparts. Either way, not that big a deal. If it's 65k ok, its a great deal, fabulous, if it isnt, so what the world is full of awesome cars you can still get at 65K or so.

The only thing I have had to pay out of pocket was new set of Pirelli Pzero at 5k miles.
So not sure what maintenance concern on late model Ferrari you are referring too?
My 16 Callaway SC757 has had more warranty issue than my 458 by far. Granted all covered under warrant except a new set of Michelin tires at 6k on the Odometer.
But the Rear diff replace at 107 miles. The Hand built LT4 at 700 miles.
This took one month as I demanded that it get the engine build by the same tech at the PBC so that the car was as original as possible.
I come to find out that the builder of my original and replacement which was shipped with everything attached was build by the team.leader of the PBC.
Just goes to show anything mechanical can break.
Buthe I give GM good grades as they did as I requested and sent the entire new motor with the builder name as the same as original when they replace motor at 700m
I had a 14 z51 not one problem and a 15 Z06 same deal not one problem and then the 16 Callaway all the issue in 1st 700 miles .
Good new since then over the next 7000 miles other than a faulty break wear sensor it's been trouble free.
So I don't think GM has any better reliability than you will find in a late model Ferrari.
The old story of Ferrari and Lamborghini being maintenance nightmare is really a thing of the past at least from my experience with having owned both.
