There are many factors more important than performance. Styling will turn people on or off to a car much faster than ride quality or performance.
I call BS on this when you are specifically talking about a sports car. Does it have to look the part? Yes and each and every Corvette ever made looks the part of a sports car. There will always be a select few individuals constantly nitpicking and arguing over which one looks best but in the end, they all play the part of a sports car just fine. What truly separates one sports car from another are its capabilities as a whole. How it performs, how it drives, what its limits and capabilities are.
If I simply wanted something that looks good to me there are plenty of other highly stylish, great looking automobiles out there some that are sports cars and some that are not.
Sorry if this was previously discussed but noticed some folks saying this may be the ZR1 price. If that is the case, would it really be possible to state the price at this point? That would be similar to someone saying back in 2011-2012 timeframe during C7 development that the C7 ZR1 is coming and it will be $119,995.

Nobody posting in this thread knows the actual price or if they do have not posted it. Even if someone really does know the real price there is no way to prove it on a public forum like this. All 55 pages in here are speculation and hearsay.

Corvette is benchmarking the Zora against the 911 Turbo S which is nearly $200K. So more expensive than a ZR1 seems obvious unless Corvette has a magic robot that can build a car for half the price of a 911 Turbo S.

Many would argue they already have these robots and do build a car for half the price that competes. A benchmark is a target one is trying to hit or best. In many cases coming close to that benchmark is good enough and at times is even enough to be considered a victory....

Failing to beat Porsche is not "good enough" and Porsche's robots are as good or better (made in Germany) than Corvette's. The business case for Corvette is to beat Porsche. Anything less is failure and Mary Barra is no nonsense about failure.

The Corvettes are already beating the 911 Turbo.
2014 911 Turbo S - 2:51.2
2015 Corvette Z06 - 2:44.6
2017 Corvette Grand Sport - 2:47.1 (tying the 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS at 2:47.0)

Well you are wrong, and you bought the wrong car, so...enjoy.
I don't know about $169,900 but I have always believed the C8 was going to start at $100,000. Come on now a fully loaded Pickup can be $87,000 or more this car is costing GM a mint you can bet on that. I just hope it does not become a Cadillac also.
