I’m wondering the same thing... has GM even announced whether the C8 will be revealed in Detroit? I haven’t heard a peep from them. Toyota officially announced the Supra for Detroit like last week for what it’s worth

I'm starting to wonder if GM is just going to try to drop it with no teasers at all, sort of like how Ford did with the GT. GM's car isn't remotely secret at this point, but maybe they still think they can go for some kind of surprise. Who knows.

At least they didn't do a years long slow motion tease like Toyota and Honda did with their flagship cars. By the time we finally saw those cars, they were 3-4 years old thanks to all the concepts, previews, teasers and leaks.

Although I have no basis to believe the C8 will be announced at the NAIAS verse another platform, at some point they're gonna have to announce the damn thing, so why not. NAIAS it is.

I already booked my flight. Same as I did with a group of friends in 2013 when the C7 was first shown.

I booked my flight to Detroit a couple days ago. But that's mostly to visit with some friends. I'd be going regardless of whether or not there's anything Corvette related. We used to go meet up at the Chicago show, but it's getting harder for them to get away.

NAIAS needs to fix their Press page. There's a big "2019 Press Conference Schedule" header followed by a bunch of 2018 info.

I think you're going to need a ticket to NYC as well.

See you somewhere Jeremy! Like you, I am going to wherever the car is going to be revealed, as long as within the U.S. (which will be done this time_.

Either NAIAS or NYAS in my opinion.

Might there be tease or a quick-peek cameo (maybe a C8.R) in Shanghai, at or around the time of the 6 hours? This is a monumental race for the brand, especially with the international exposure, and possiblythe next step in what I believe will be an international marketing push for the C8.

The promotional value is in detroit not NY city.

god dam New Yorkers dont give a sh t...(kidding )

releasing the c8 in detroit sends shock waves throughout the industry about the rejuvenation of detroit automakers capabilitues worldwide or at least throughout the USA and hopefully the stock market to raise gm s profile as a world class technically capable manufacturer even as the automakers scramble to become the ridiculous label of mobility companies (which is ridiculous nonsense)

detroit auto show release of the c8 makes the most sense...creates the largest bang of halo effect for GM ...

NY? Even though it would be great for me to see it in person there...i believe detroit will be the venue...maybe at a venue slightly earlier in a hotel near the show a few days or hours ahead of time Which seems to be what manufacturers are doing these days instead of show...the manufacturers are capable of rounding up and hog tieing (sp) journalist for the same or less amount of money for longer periods of time ...

of course the internet makes the release of information and photos for enthusiasts and even non enthusiasts lightning fast....

we will across the country see and hear of the new rear mid engine corvette within seconds of the release...

any of you guys laugh to yourselves as we recall the time when we waited three months for the magazines like car and driver, road and track and motor trend to come in the mail to see and hear about the new models....

if you go further back it was in the showrooms themselves where the car dealers covered the windows as they put the new models on the showroom floor for the reveals...

i enjoyed seeing this post stating 70 days and counting...

i believe that to be more probable...

just an opinion though...

i still remember back in january 1997 going to a small local show in secaucus NJ at a convention center and seeing a torch red c5....once that happened i was hooked...i never expected to see it there.

i remember seeing that corvette and thinking to myself WOW what an amazing sports car...

while i think the small convention center shows in january wont have a c8 corvette as it never followed suit so quickly in future generations such as the c6 or c7....Detroit will in my opinion be the release point for the next generation corvette .

it continues the halo effect for all of gm vehicles at our nations most presigious auto show at least for this coming year.

what happens the following year as the detroit show moves to june is anybodies guess.

GM could torture corvette enthusiasts and hold back the c8 to the spring or summer of 2019 but i doubt it.

the north american car of the year award is too prestigious.

what esle is gm showing at detroit is a very good question,

I like Jerri's post; he frequently gives the reasons why he thinks the way he does. But I also liked Jeff's comments: "At least they didn't do a years long slow motion tease like Toyota and Honda did with their flagship cars. By the time we finally saw those cars, they were 3-4 years old thanks to all the concepts, previews, teasers and leaks."

As to where the Corvette will land first with no camo-no idea. To me, the NYC thing doesn't make sense. But a lotta things don't make sense to me. So, if I were a contrarian, I'd say NYC. Maybe even Jerri's Secaucus---why not!

I can't remember the C7 timeline but weren't we getting "teasers" already leading into Detroit 2013????
